As somebody who doesn’t enjoy boys names in general, I’ve found it hard to get to the point of having four possible names for my son (Due [name]April[/name]) on our list…so imagine my surprise when, this evening, I have actually stumbled across THREE new ones that I like a lot!!!
These are the 3 new additions to our list of possible names for the baby:
[name]Loir[/name] seems much darker than [name]Lorcan[/name] to me!!! Makes me immediately think of Noir… I like the pronunciation though, but my sister’s name is [name]Laura[/name] and she is called [name]Lore[/name] for short…so far too close.
[name]Lorne[/name] is more popular in [name]Canada[/name] than anywhere else. I love the name but with your surname it sounds like “worn glass”.
I’m hearing “broken glass” for [name]Lorcan[/name] Glass (I don’t know what’s wrong with me today!)
[name]Oisin[/name] (OSH-sheen) Glass has repetitive “s” sounds but I think I like it the best of all! In Irish legend, Oisín was a warrior hero and a poet and the son of [name]Fionn[/name] mac Cumhail. [name]Do[/name] you think it would be misspelled and mispronounced where you live?
I really like [name]Oisin[/name]! [name]Lorne[/name] is very nice too, but none of them are as amazing as the wonderful [name]Tyne[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Glass, I’m such a big fan of that name!
Lol [name]Mischa[/name]! It’s not my surname (yet!) its my partners, but this is SUCH a problem with it - I hear Glass references in most names! [name]One[/name] of my top girl names choices was [name]Brogan[/name]…can you imagine…[name]Brogan[/name] Glass?!
I don’t think [name]Oisin[/name] would be mis-pronounced here, particularly as my family has Irish heritage anyway and there are a lot of Irish families where I’m from - I do think mis-spelling would be an issue but that will always be the case with Irish names and their complicated spellings are part of what I love about them! Also, we wanted a name relating to a warrior as his starsign will be [name]Aries[/name] and it seems appropriate
Lol thanks [name]Ottilie[/name]! [name]Tyne[/name] is still in with a shot, but I want some back ups to take to the hospital with us
[name]Oisin[/name] is not a problem in [name]England[/name]. And you should definitely bring in a few choices. [name]Oisin[/name] Glass is a great name. [name]Oisin[/name] [name]Noah[/name]?
Thanks I’d love [name]Oisin[/name] [name]Noah[/name] but OH is dead set on using the grandfathers names for the middles…he says its more important to him than the first name!, so it would still be [name]Oisin[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name]
I agree-- quite like [name]Oisin[/name] Glass. It’s really fantastic. [name]Oisin[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Glass = very cool. Conversely, you could spell it [name]Ossian[/name] like the poem ([name]Ossian[/name] Glass is very swoon-worthy).
[name]Blade[/name] - I love the idea of spelling it [name]Ossian[/name] - thanks! I have just looked up the story behind the poet and its very interesting, plus at least that way if it is mispronounced, it sounds better than [name]Oisin[/name] would!
