My newest name crushes are [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Athena[/name], and [name]Romilly[/name]. Thoughts on these?
[name]Raphael[/name] is one of my current crushes, too, but I dislike the nickname [name]Rafe[/name]/Raph. I prefer [name]Rafaela[/name]/[name]Raphaela[/name] on a girl with the nn [name]Fay[/name].
For years, I thought [name]Athena[/name] was prn Uh-[name]THAY[/name]-nuh and not uh-thee-nuh. The correct prn is NMS.
Where is the emphasis in [name]Romilly[/name]? Is it ra-MILL-ee or [name]RO[/name]-mill-ee. Either way, this is also NMS.
Though not my style, I really like [name]Raphael[/name] and [name]Athena[/name], but I find [name]Romilly[/name] to be confusing. It kind of reminds me of ramen noodles haha!
I think [name]Raphael[/name] is such a wonderful name.
[name]Athena[/name] is fine, but nms.
[name]Romilly[/name] - is this a boy’s name or girl’s name? [name]How[/name] do you pronounce it? I really don’t like it. If this is for a girl: I do like [name]Roma[/name] and [name]Millie[/name], though! (separately, not combined!) Or, if it’s for a boy: [name]Roman[/name] and [name]Milo[/name]/[name]Miles[/name] are all nice
[name]Raphael[/name] is one my fave names for a boy & I love [name]Raphaela[/name] for a girl too!
I’m kind of in between with [name]Athena[/name]…I don’t mind it.
[name]Raphael[/name] still reminds me too much of ninja turtles.
[name]Athena[/name] is pretty!
[name]Romilly[/name] was on my list too (being both close to [name]Emily[/name] and a way to get to nickname [name]Romy[/name]), but everything that I have read about it indicates very negative opinion from listeners. I want my daughter to have a pretty name, and I don’t think [name]Romilly[/name] has the exposure to do that yet.
Hmm, going off what others said [name]Rafaela[/name] is okay, but I think I’m liking Ravela/Rivela/Revela
[name]Romilly[/name]–I like the sound of it, but it reminds me too much of homily and romney
[name]Athena[/name] is lovely, though I can’t personally see using it, I’d love to meet one.
I am biased, as I chose [name]Raphael[/name] for my son’s middle name, but I adore it. It’s literary, artistic, romantic, angelic, saintly and strong. [name]Gabriel[/name] & [name]Michael[/name] have such wide usage, I have found that [name]Raphael[/name] has been very much appreciated.
[name]Athena[/name] is cool, quirky, and interesting. It’s undergoing a bit of a revival in Greece and amongst Greek Americans as the country is becoming slightly less religiously Orthodox.
[name]Romilly[/name] is an interesting name; definitely not frilly, with rather obscure origins. It does remind me of the Nazi general [name]Rommel[/name].
Years ago when I was in my last year of college, one of my professors was calling roll (the usual first day of the semester drill) and called out “[name]Athena[/name] [insert last name].” I remember spinning around in my chair to see what [name]Athena[/name] looked like because it sounded like the coolest name I had ever heard! lol I offer this story because [name]Athena[/name] is quite the name… It stands out. It definitely catches attention. [name]Athena[/name] sounds strong, intelligent, and just… powerful. I love it!
[name]Raphael[/name] is okay. I knew one in high school. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, called him Raphi. [name]Romilly[/name] isn’t my style, but it doesn’t seem bad to me.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Romilly[/name]. I want to use Rommely after the family in A Tree Grows In [name]Brooklyn[/name].
I also love [name]Romilly[/name]. To me, it’s beautiful name.
I love [name]Raphael[/name]. I think it’s one of those names that everyone’s heard of and appreciates but not many people actually use it, and I like [name]Rafe[/name] as a nickname.
It’s funny, because I feel like I SHOULD love [name]Athena[/name]…but I just don’t. I don’t hate it, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t appeal to me very much. It sounds kind of like a type of car or something.
[name]Romilly[/name] I don’t particularly like, but I do like the nn’s [name]Romy[/name] and [name]Milly[/name].
[name]Athena[/name] and [name]Romilly[/name] are both names that rotate on my list all the time. So pretty! [name]Raphael[/name] is a really cool name. I also love [name]Rafe[/name] as a nn.
