Most to least favourite:

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]
[name_f]Carla[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Manuela[/name_f]
Niccolina
[name_f]Appolonia[/name_f]
Myrtalli

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] is so cute, and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] has been on my list of favourites for a while.

[name_f]Carla[/name_f] is very cute and soft, but with an edge. Met some lovely people named [name_f]Carla[/name_f].

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] is such a classic and has a very vintage sound to it.

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is also really pretty, but not my usual style of name.

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] has a strong history to it and feels powerful, but I don’t think it’s a name I see a child wearing (just because I do some spiritual work with the Greek pantheon and it would feel a bit strange to me).

I don’t have much to say about [name_f]Manuela[/name_f], but I do like it.

I prefer [name_u]Nicola[/name_u] to Niccolina, but it’s still nice.

Appolina has a similar reaction from me as Niccolina- I think I prefer the simpler version, Apolla.

I’m not sure if I like the spelling of Myrtalli, and find it to be a bit fiddly so would probably only use it with a nickname. However I think I’d like it if I got used to it.

I am very intrigued by Myrtalli! Where did you come across this name? It’s a new one for me. It has such a lovely sound.

I also love [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]! Such amazing names.

I spotted it on a Greek tv series. It was the real name of Olympiada, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] the Great’s mother.

That is very interesting! [name_u]An[/name_u] ancient name that I would be fascinated to see revived.

Artemis – a good, strong name with great history, and is uncommon yet not unknown.
Ada – short, sweet and classy
Dorothea – not a fan of Dorina though
Apollonia
Sylvia
Myrtalli – an interesting little thing. This has such a nice sound, but I’m not sold on the look of it. It feels kind of like a ‘modern-recreation’ to lighten heavy Myrtle. ETA: If it’s the Alexander the Great connection you’re going for, Myrtale was the spelling of it, I believe, and does look a lot neater. For the more obvious EE ending, Myrtalie wouldn’t be too bad either. There is also an order of plant called Myrtales, which I think is pronounced mir-TAY-lees, which may also be of interest to you.
Niccolina
Manuela
Carla

[name_f]Carla[/name_f] - I am not really a fan to be honest
[name_f]Manuela[/name_f] - I like this one
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - Interesting one, wouldn’t use it myself but I can see the appeal
[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] and Myrtalli - I dislike them
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] - A pretty one
Niccolina - There is just something about this spelling that bugs me
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (ah-dah) - One of my all time favourites and my preferred pronounciation
Dorothea(nickname Dorina) - I like the name, nickname not so much. [name_f]Dorina[/name_f] is a very popular chocolate in my area so that is all I can think of. Sort of like if you nickamed someone “Nutella” or “Toblerone”. If I didn’t have this association I would probably have a different opinion

Not my style : Myrtalli, and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]

Names on my no fly list : [name_f]Carla[/name_f] (there is a pretty infamous [name_f]Karla[/name_f] in [name_f]Canada[/name_f]. She did some super horrific things and I can’t get past that association)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my favorite to least favorite rankings:

Sylvia-So elegant & smart & classy. It’s well known but not over done. Simple & pretty & grows up well. And the potential nn of [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is darling.

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn Dorina-I don’t know that I like [name_f]Dorina[/name_f] that much. And it doesn’t seem much like a nn. You could just do [name_f]Dorina[/name_f] as a full name if you prefer that. But [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] is stunning. Smart & bold & feminine w/out being frilly. I like the nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]! [name_f]Dora[/name_f] & [name_f]Thea[/name_f] are also good.

Carla-It’s not a name that’s usually on my radar, but it would be refreshing to meet a little tyke named [name_f]Carla[/name_f]. It’s ready for a comeback. It’s equal parts sweet & no nonsense.

Manuela-Same as above. It’s not a name that I think about too much, but it has a pleasant interesting sound & is unique w/out being weird.

Ada-I’d prefer this w/a long ‘a’ to rhyme w/Day-duh. But it’s not bad. I like how it honors your mom. Kind of popular said w/the long ‘a’, so it would get annoying correcting people on pronunciation all of the time.

Apollonia-It’s different. I want to like it. But I just hear ‘Apple’ too much. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the possibility of the nn [name_f]Polly[/name_f].

Artemis-Well, it’s my boy cat’s name, so I kind of prefer it for a boy. I know that it’s unisex & actually more popular for girls though. I just don’t find the sound super feminine. [name_f]My[/name_f] kitty is usually called [name_u]Ari[/name_u], which I prefer for a boy too, but is sort of cute for a girl.

Niccolina-Love that it honors your dad, but it just looks off. I’d prefer just [name_u]Nicola[/name_u], I think.

Myrtalli-This is just a bit too tricky to say & spell.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
