Thoughts on these two names please?

Hi there,
so me and my husband are expecting a baby boy and can’t decide which of these two names we like better - [name_m]David[/name_m] or [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]. [name_m]David[/name_m] is my favourite boy’s name and I like [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], which is similar to my father’s name - Costadin. In our country there’s a tradition in which the naming of the child is after either of the parents’ parents. Usually I was against that tradition, but my father is really sweet and is always there to help us and is also very humble and doesn’t care how we call the child as long as we like it, which makes it hard for me because I’m thorn between my favourite name and “honoring” my sweet dad in some way. P.S my husband likes [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] better but is fine with [name_m]David[/name_m] too, so it’s mainly me who’s wondering. P.S.2. We wanted names which could be internationally recognised that’s why we narrowed our choices to these two.
What are your thoughts?

Thank you for the comment. Both fit our family and surname too

Thanks for commenting. I like the combination and already mentioned it to my husband, but he’d prefer a single name

This is a difficult choice! I personally prefer [name_m]David[/name_m], but it feels like [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] has more meaning for you. Both will work well internationally. Maybe you would want to wait until you have the baby and see if one seems to fit him better? Good luck with whatever you choose!

I think you should just go for the name you love the most! If you like [name_m]David[/name_m] more, use [name_m]David[/name_m]. If you like [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] more, use that.
I personally think [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] is really cool.

I like someone’s suggestion of bringing both names to the delivery room! Then you can see your baby and see if he’s more of a [name_m]David[/name_m] or a [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]. I think both of the names are great!

Thank you, we might go for that option.

Personally feel [name_m]David[/name_m] is so basic and prefer [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]! If I were you I would name my child [name_m]David[/name_m] and save [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] for when I had a son or even a daughter ([name_f]Constance[/name_f] is quite beautiful!)! You can always do the opposite and save [name_m]David[/name_m] but that might be taken next time by a family member so I do see how stressful it is! If you plan on having an only child (not sure but it popped up in my head) [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t stress and chose the name you WANT! Honoring parents is important but I’m sure your dad will be happy just forming memories than knowing they have a name in honor of him!

Both names are great! I would personally probably use a variation of an honour name, so if it were me I would go with [name_u]Constantine[/name_u].

Some other suggestions that would honour your dad
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u]
[name_u]Connor[/name_u]

I’d go with the one you love -[name_m]David[/name_m]!

David [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] would make a wonderful combo

Thank you, you’re right too!

Thank you for your suggestions!

Thank you for the opinion
