Hoping to get some thoughts on these crushes I’ve been thinking about for a bit:
[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m]
[name_m]Barzillai[/name_m]
[name_u]Nehemiah[/name_u] “Nemo”
Also, what would you nn [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] and [name_m]Barzillai[/name_m]? Not a huge fan of [name_u]Ari[/name_u] for [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] or Bear/Barry/Zeal for [name_m]Barzillai[/name_m].

[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] is intriguing, magical and golden - I like it! I do slightly prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] for a spelling, as [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] gives me a slight look of alien

For nicknames, I’d consider Auli (or-lee), [name_u]Ren[/name_u], [name_u]Golden[/name_u], [name_m]Gold[/name_m], [name_f]Goldy[/name_f], [name_u]Arnie[/name_u], [name_f]Rell[/name_f], Ray/Rey/Ree (depending on pn)
[name_m]Barzillai[/name_m] is one that will have to grow on me. I feel like I can see the appeal in terms of vibe and look, and I like the meaning 
It has a zippy, yet strong and Biblical feeling. Which pronunciation do you use?
For a nickname, I’m thinking: Bash, [name_m]Baz[/name_m], [name_m]Barley[/name_m], Zy, Blai/Bly, [name_u]Billy[/name_u]
[name_u]Nehemiah[/name_u] has both strength, warmth and gentleness - it’s a big name, yet friendly too - that meaning of comfort is nice too. [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] is pretty cool
Aurelien - love this. Nn ideas - Sunny, Rey & Lien (Lee-en)
Barzillai - sounds a bit shocking, the way I imagine Elizabeth did before we all grew accustomed to those striking sounds in a name, by hearing it often. Nn ideas: Zil, Lai.
Nehemiah - so gentle, I love it.
adore nehemiah, aurelien is nice though slightly dated-feely (but i have a personal thing with aur/ara names), barzillai is a surname i hear a lot so im iffy on it

barzillai - ironman?

[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] is such a handsome, regal name! Definitely a knight in shining armor! I think I prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] by a tiny bit! Regardless, this is definitely my favorite of the three!
[name_m]Barzillai[/name_m] is a very strong name. It wouldn’t be my personal pick, since I find the sounds quite harsh.
[name_u]Nehemiah[/name_u] is very grand! I love a good Old Testament name! [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] isn’t my favorite, but that is probably just because of the fish association.
I only like [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m]. In my opinion it is elegant in a soft way yet full of charm.
I adore [name_m]Barzillai[/name_m], it’s ridiculously underrated. Barli could be a good nickname for it, or maybe Zil/Zilly? I think that last one would be my choice.
[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] is nice, but I much prefer it with the [name_u]French[/name_u] pronunciation, I’m not too fond of the [name_f]English[/name_f] one. I’d go with [name_u]Auri[/name_u] as a nickname.
[name_u]Nehemiah[/name_u] is a nice sounding name, soft but strong at the same time. I’m not too keen on [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] as a nickname because it’s too much “finding Nemo” for me, but it could definitely work.

@Greyblue - ha, ironically, I used to prefer [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] myself! Lately I’ve been thinking [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] looks more distinguished… idk lol. Auli is interesting but I think would be too similar to my nephew’s nn (Ollie), but Relly is kind of cute. And I say [name_m]Barzillai[/name_m] like bar-zill-eye! Bash is interesting, I’ll have to think on that! I was thinking Zilly maybe too?

And ahh, yes, I figured the fish association might put some off… I think of [name_u]Jules[/name_u] Verne’s [name_m]Captain[/name_m] [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] though! I guess I should actually read 20,000 Leagues Under the [name_u]Sea[/name_u] before I commit to [name_m]Nemo[/name_m], even as a nn, though. lol.

According to NB standards that’s perfectly normal But seriously, it might work. Or you could just see which nickname comes naturally, like we did with our Barnabas.
HAHA say no more, I am quite smitten with Bailey Cedar anyway. I do kind of like Zilly, honestly, or I may just see if Barry/Bear or Bo grow on me. Side note, do you mind sharing what nn you use for your Barnabas? It’s on my own list and I’m fascinated by nn options except Barnie lol.
Until about a year ago we only used his middle name as a nickname (Huni means “bear cub”), but my husband has always liked Barns, so he started using that more often and now it’s about 50/50 between Huni and Barns. Husband’s Russian family uses Barya and Barusha, and my Icelandic family sometimes uses Barni (which we said we’d never use, but it’s kind of growing on us).
