Rhymes with ‘ornery’…but the meaning is lovely.
I would have never pronounced it that way, and I like it much more now that I know the correct pronunciation. With that spelling, I too think of canary. That mixed with my pronunciation annihilation, I would suggest changing the spelling to make it easier for us non-Cambodians.
If it has special meaning for you that really sweet. It feels like [name]Chan/name was added to the word cannery for me when I first saw it.
