I’ve posted about my love of the name [name]Meredy[/name], which I found on a thread here! I think I can get my husband to warm up to it too, but we’re due in less than 3 weeks so time is running out!
I’d like to name our daughter after my sister, [name]Angel[/name]. Does [name]Meredy[/name] [name]Angel[/name] sound ok? Or do the back to back vowel sounds run together too much?
While I have you, is [name]Meredy[/name] phonetic to you?
I love [name]Meredith[/name] so naturally I like [name]Meredy[/name], I would say it the same as I would [name]Meredith[/name] but with an E sound instead of ‘ith’ so [name]Mare[/name]-i-dee
Meridy is so pretty! I would also pronounce it [name]Mare[/name]-i-dee, like [name]Merida[/name] without the a-ending. Are you going to use the cutest nn ever of [name]Merry[/name]? =]
I don’t think we’ll use a nn as my aunt’s name is [name]Mary[/name] already, and I think it will just be confusing. The spelling of [name]Merry[/name] is very cute though! In fact, my husband worries that when you say “[name]Meredy[/name]” fast, it sounds like “[name]Mary[/name]” and he’s not a huge fan of that… but, I think it’s different enough as [name]Meredy[/name] does have an extra syllable.
I am also deciding between the spelling of [name]Meredy[/name] and Meridy… and hoping neither name becomes popular. I prefer to never have her name be added to the Top 1,000 but that will be out of my control, ha.
