Hello! I’m currently in the process of planning a high fantasy story, but I’ve been struggling to find a fitting name for my heroine. However, it seems my search has come to an end!
I’d like to name her Asana, because it looks very beautiful in my opinion and has a soft yet strong sound, which suits her character very well. Plus, it’s a Greenlandic name and means ‘lovable one’.
The main story is quite complex, so I’m just going to give you a glimpse into her past history:
She’s half-elven, raised by her father in poverty. She is quite a skilled thief, having started it in the first place to make ends need, but it wasn’t enough. In need of money, she starts working at a brothel, where she later encounters a wealthy lord, who eventually takes her with him to the royal palace to become a courtesan, as it is first assumed. Needless to say, this is not actually what’s going to happen, but I don’t want this to be pages long, so long story short she gets trained along side other people (elves, humans, etc.) with various skills and abilities, to form an order to defeat the big bad.
Her appearance & character:
She has dark chocolate brown hair that is naturally softly curled. Her eyes are green. She’s receptive and compassionate, but appears very quiet and guarded at first. At the beginning she’s only really interested in her own survival, simply because that’s what she’s been taught to do since she was a little child, but as the story progresses she gets more and more self-sacrificng and brave. She’s a kind person in general, but also very headstrong and unafraid to speak her opinion. I think her most defining character traits are her cunning and determination that she manages to convey without ever being outwardly harsh.

The name really seems to suit her personality.
