I have a 6 month old named [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name], so we have about another 6 months before we start even trying again, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking about names for [name]Mabel[/name]'s sister (if we’re so blessed to have another)!
Lately I have really become infatuated with the name [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] to be exact. I know [name]Rose[/name] is kind of an overused middle name, but it’s the name of a very dear family member that we’d like to honor. What are your thoughts on this name? What kind of style does it exude? [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Amelia[/name] is becoming too popular?
[name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] go great together! I love [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]–very pretty. I think [name]Amelia[/name] is a classic girl’s name that will never go out of style, and it has some nicknames possibilities, like [name]Mia[/name], [name]Lia[/name] or [name]Amy[/name].
I think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is beautiful! I wouldn’t worry too much about [name]Rose[/name] being overused as a middle name, especially since it has personal meaning to you. [name]Amelia[/name] has become popular (#68 in 2008, not sure about more recently), but I think it sounds timeless and not at all trendy. If you love it, go for it!
[name]Carter[/name]!!! ((((HUG)))) [name]How[/name] are you? And [name]Mabel[/name]? I love [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name], and I love how [name]Rose[/name] has meaing to you. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Amelia[/name] is popular, to me, it’s like [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Anna[/name], in that it’s timeless, not trendy. (That’s just me, though.) It doesn’t feel as vintage to me as [name]Mabel[/name], but I still think it works.
I love the [name]Millie[/name] nickname, which reminds me of [name]Mabel[/name]'s vintage charm.
Ohh I love [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name], so adorable!
I think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] goes great. So classic and feminine, as is [name]Mabel[/name]. I love them together. However, something a little more offbeat, like [name]Mabel[/name], would be nice, like… [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Florence[/name] or [name]Flora[/name] (I positively [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Flora[/name] together!), [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Cecelia[/name] or [name]Celia[/name] would be amazing!
I agree with [name]Liz[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] is very nice but to me it doesn’t feel as special as mabel. I like flora. What about [name]Cameo[/name] or [name]Cleo[/name]? I like [name]Rose[/name] even though it is a bit over used s a middle name. I would still use [name]Rose[/name] as a mn. good luck.
It’s the perfect name! Not only does it flow effortlessly with [name]Mabel[/name], but the meaning for [name]Rose[/name] (for you) is lovely. I hope you name her this!
Thank you all for your thoughts. I just think [name]Amelia[/name] is such a special name, however I do agree that it’s not as ‘vintage’ as [name]Mabel[/name].
What names do you think go well with [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name]???
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Jill[/name]!!! Its been a while… been busy being a mommy. [name]How[/name] are you???
Hey! I’ve been great, thanks! [name]Even[/name] though [name]Amelia[/name] isn’t as vintage sounding as [name]Mabel[/name], I still love it, and I can totally see it with [name]Mabel[/name]. I hope you use it if it’s the perfect name for you! Really, I think it’s great!
More I can see with [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name] (just a great name!), including names that remind me of [name]Amelia[/name] (I’ll also include names that don’t work with [name]Rose[/name], in case it’s not set in stone…):
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Adelia[/name] (close to [name]Amelia[/name])
[name]Adeline[/name] (Oops! I forgot that your last name ends with an N)
[name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] (Not with [name]Rose[/name], though…Same with [name]Cora[/name]…)
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Della[/name] (contains [name]Mabel[/name]'s “el,” but they have different sounds in the two names…)
[name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] (nn [name]Hattie[/name])
[name]Henrietta[/name] (ditto)
[name]Ivy[/name] (Oops…Not with your last name…I think that nouns up front sound like modifiers with your last name. Same goes for [name]Daisy[/name]…)
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Polly[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name] (if using [name]Rose[/name] up front is an option for you…)
[name]Susannah[/name], nn [name]Annie[/name] (reminds me more of [name]Amelia[/name] than it does [name]Mabel[/name], though)
[name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] (I love [name]Willa[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]!)
If the N-ending isn’t an issue for you (I can’t remember, but I’m thinking it may not have been an issue):
I can also see names like [name]June[/name], [name]Nell[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Bess[/name], or [name]Ruth[/name], but I know they don’t work with your last name or a short middle like [name]Rose[/name].
Saying [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name] makes me smile! It’s adorable
