I would never have thought of the “harlot” association personally. The “w” ending is distinctive when the name is written out, and the two words sound quite different. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] reminds me of harlot more than [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] does.

With [name_u]Harper[/name_u] so popular, I think [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] could easily fly as a first name.

I don’t think of the ‘harlot’ association at all, but it just reminds me of the rough area just outside of [name_u]London[/name_u], so I would keep it in a middle name spot. I think all names in the middle are fair game, no matter how crazy.

It’s funny you mention the harlot association, because I never hear it being brought up yet it plagues me because of the similarities it has with [name_f]Harlow[/name_f].
In general, [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] is not really my type of name. I find the first syllable typically sounds harsh, which tends to carry off on the second syllable. -low can go either way on that spectrum, I find, but it sounds to me like a harsh and bold name. Perhaps [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]? I find it’s a bit more soft-sounding and lends itself to the adorable nickname [name_f]Marly[/name_f].
However if I had to use [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], I’d use it as a first name. I’m not sure how well it could pair as a middle.

I’m sorry, I always think of harlot when I hear the name [name_f]Harlow[/name_f].
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is fantastic though.

I think it works in either spot! Cute!
