For a while, I’ve been in love with the name Stana. At first I thought it was feminine of [name_u]Stanley[/name_u], I love [name_u]Stanley[/name_u], that’s what brought it to my attention in the first place. Then with the fame of the female lead on Castle, I really started thinking about it. I googled the heck out of it, and came up with multiple sites saying it was short for Stanislavia, but with no meaning, and a few said it meant star. I just love this name! I even checked on this site, it’s not even showing up on any user lists! So I’m curious, does anyone else like this name? Does anyone have any info on it?
It’s an extremely out-dated Slavic name, at least in my country. I don’t like it.
Stana is outdated? Or Stanislavia? Is Stana short for Stanislavia? Any info from someone who has had actual experience with this name would be greatly appreciated!
It is a variation of Stanislava and it basically means “stand; stop”. Its meaning has nothing to do with stars, unfortunately. It is outdated in Croatia, but maybe not all Slavic countries.
