What are your thoughts on the name [name_f]Molly[/name_f]?
I think its nice. Its not an unusual name in the US, but i don’t hear it often. I’ve only met 2 in my whole life.
I absolutely love it, but I would probably give a more formal name just in case. Increasingly, I like the idea of using [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Maria[/name_f].
I think of it as slang for drugs personally.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is sweet. A little cutesy perhaps, though I do think an adult could pull the name off too (said adult might wish she had a more formal given name though in her professional life).
It’s nice but I also prefer it as a nickname. A really sweet name
I like it. I do, however, know of at least 3 dogs named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and only 1 person (teenager). I think it has a lovely sound. Playful yet sophisticated.
I think its very sweet and lovely! A gorgeous choise!
I like it though it does seem rather popular (in the US). I can think of a few young girls named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] that I know and I am not around kids that much.
I have to say that Mollly, like [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] or [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], is one of those names that is always used for the stock servant character in period dramas and novels. I don’t know if that’s something that would bother you or not…
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a great name. I don’t find it overly childish or mawkish; rather, it’s comfortable and wearable, friendly and really sweet. I actually find it quite a modern, tomboyish name, so not in the same category as Victorian girls like [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Bessie[/name_f] at all.
I do prefer it as a diminutive for [name_f]Mary[/name_f], though.
I’ll admit that my dog’s name is [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. So I obviously like the name, but I hear it much more on dogs than children where I live ([name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m]). That said, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is also a popular dog name, and I used it for my son!
I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is cute, but on a human I’d name her [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as a nickname.
I love [name_f]Molly[/name_f]!
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is super cute but I prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or [name_f]Melusine[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is quite sweet:) I don’t think it is “cutesy”, nor does it need a full name. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is darling on her own.
It does remind me of both the American Girl doll and [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] [name_u]McCarthy[/name_u]'s character on the TV show [name_m]Mike[/name_m] & [name_f]Molly[/name_f], but otherwise, I don’t know anyone with the name.
It’s a nice name, quite popular in the UK where I’mm from. I wouldn’t use it, but I like it as a name. It makes me think of [name_f]Molly[/name_f] Weasley in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]!
It’s incredibly popular here, [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Mollie[/name_f] (and I know a [name_f]Mollee[/name_f], as well). I don’t mind it, but like I said it’s crazy popular, so I’m bored of it. I grew up surrounded by Mollys.
Personally not a fan, but I see the appeal and think that it’s pretty cute
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a street name for the drug MDMA/Ecstasy. It is referenced in countless songs.
E.g.
Mask Off - [name_u]Future[/name_u]
It was a cute name but honestly in this generation your child will most likely grow up in association with the drug. There is a little girl about 14 years old in my neighborhood named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] who gets teased endlessly because of it. She now goes by her middle name.
I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f]/[name_f]Mollie[/name_f] is a lovely name. I had a friend called this when I was about 18, and my younger sister also has a friend named [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. I think it works well on a variety of people at any age, really. It’s sweet, sassy, uncommon (at least where I am), and it’s just very fun and light feeling.
