Thoughts on this name

Hello Berries,

My aunt is pregnant with a little girl, due to [name_u]March[/name_u] and they had decided to name her [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_f]Mei[/name_f]. They already have a girl named [name_f]Charli[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and a boy named [name_f]Alexys[/name_f] [name_m]George[/name_m]. I thought that this name was only used for boys but then I learnt that it is unisex… I’m not sure if I like it on a girl. There are times that I love this name on a girl and others where I hate it… Since my uncle announced the baby’s name I started
liking it…Wouldd you ever name your daughter [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]??

I think it’s a darling name with the nn [name_u]Connie[/name_u]. And I think of [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] from The Help. I don’t think I personally would use it.

No, it isn’t my style for either sex.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a word of caution: if your aunt or uncle were to search the name Const@ntine [name_f]Mei[/name_f] in Google, they’d easily find this thread as it’s a pretty unique combination. You might want to substitute some letters for symbols (as above) to make it less searchable.

On the name: it’s unconventional, but I can definitely see it working. [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] is 100% a male name to me, but if names like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] can be used for girls, why not [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]? My only quibble would be that it’s a bit of a style mismatch with [name_f]Charli[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexys[/name_f].

Good luck to them!

I think [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] is lovely, but I hate the obvious nickname ([name_u]Connie[/name_u]) so much that I would never use the name.

It’s not my style, but I think it’s usable.
