Thoughts on this name?

As a music fan, I have encountered lots of songs that would work for baby names. I have been particularly fond of “Cirice” from a song by Ghost. I couldn’t find anything about it as a name, or in a dictionary either, but from what I did find it apparently means “Church” in old [name_f]English[/name_f]. I’m not much of a religious person, but it think Cirice could be a pretty name!

Ooh Cirice is really cool! I dont think anyone (aside from maybe the odd historian or linguist) would know it meant church in old [name_f]English[/name_f], so in my opinion it would still be usable for a non-religious family, so long as that knowledge didnt bother you.
How is it pronounced?

Sir-eece (second syllable rhyming with [name_u]Reece[/name_u])! And yeah, since no one really knows the meaning it definitely doesn’t bother me.

Cool! What a unique and fabulous name!

Cirice is really pretty. I looked on NB and [name_f]Sarice[/name_f] is a similar name, but I’m guessing that is pronounced differently. The only thing that bothers me about Cirice is probably the spelling but besides that it is very cool and I love the sound!

That’s very cool! I love the meaning. The only thing that might be a concern is possible misspellings/mispronunciations; it could be mixed up with [name_f]Circe[/name_f], [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], Cerise, or [name_f]Sarice[/name_f].

It is a very cool, interesting name! I’ve never heard of it before. I like the way it sounds too. Unfortunately, I read it as “[name_f]Circe[/name_f]” multiple times before realizing that is not what you wrote. So you may have some pronunciation/spelling issues with it!

I think it has the potential to be a really lovely name! You might get a few Scandinavian people making the link to church though. Church is ‘kyrka’ is Swedish (ker-kah) and I’m fairly sure it’s similar in Iceland, Norway, and Finland. It’s still a bit of a push though, so I doubt it would be many people. If it doesn’t bother you, go for it!

It sounds really familiar, but I cant place it.
I did keep reading it as [name_f]Circe[/name_f], and Cirice isnt my favourite spelling. Is it pronounced the same as [name_f]Cerise[/name_f]? If so, I do prefer [name_f]Cerise[/name_f].
I think the name itself is fine, it sounds pretty and its quite unique.

It reminds me of cerise (the colour). I think it’s nice and interesting.

How do you pronounce it?

It’s pretty, but reminds me of [name_f]Circe[/name_f], which I prefer.
