Thoughts on this sibling set???

I don’t have any kids yet, but it is something that I am hoping for in the fairly near future. I want a big family, so I am hoping for three or four kiddos someday. Last name starts with B and rhymes with “rest”. The names that hubby and I mostly agree on are:

THE BOYS:
[name_u]Barry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] - [name_u]Barry[/name_u] after… the flash. Hubby really likes comics and all things nerdy. We both agreed that it is a pretty cute name that has potential. I suggested [name_m]Barack[/name_m], but we decided against that idea as we live in a heavily conservative area (not a lot of [name_m]Obama[/name_m] fans here). [name_u]Michael[/name_u] will be honoring my husbands best friend, and possibly god father of this little one. Possibly NN would be “BB” or “[name_m]Bear[/name_m]”

[name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] - [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] isn’t a name honoring anyone, I just like it. [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] honors husband’s grandma, [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]. She used to call him [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] before she passed away (She had alzheimer’s and never could remember his real name… for some reason she thought he was named after her, [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] isn’t anything close to hubby’s name). Possible NN would be “[name_m]Marcello[/name_m]”, “Cellie”, “[name_f]Marce[/name_f]”

THE GIRLS:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] - [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is just a name that hubby and I both really like, and I think it goes well with the others. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is my mother’s name; I have been toying around with the idea of using [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] in place of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], but I keep going back and forth. I could use some thoughts/advice on this one. I have thought about switching the name around as well: [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with NN “[name_f]Fifi[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Fina[/name_f]”.

[name_f]Margo[/name_f] - I have always loved the name [name_f]Margo[/name_f], and it just so happens that hubby’s great grandmother’s name was [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] ([name_f]Margo[/name_f] means pearl). Pearls are also the birth stone for the month of [name_u]June[/name_u], which is my great grandmother’s name. I am not sure on a middle name for [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. I thought about [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Junia[/name_f]… But I am not sure. I was just thinking as I was typing this, if I went with [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] it might be cute to start a tradition of a flower middle name, like [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. Poppies are the flowers for the birth month of [name_u]August[/name_u], which is when my husband’s mom’s birthday is.

Let me know what you think about the names I have laid out. I love planning ahead, and names are a little passion of mine. I have always loved learning about new names and finding out their meanings. Let me know if you have any suggestions or reservations about these names.

Thank you for your time!

Well I’m not a fan of [name_u]Barry[/name_u],I don’t like the sound and I have personal reservations. [name_u]Michael[/name_u]'s nice. [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] is nice too but paired with [name_m]Virgil[/name_m], it sounds girlish and not similar to [name_u]Barry[/name_u] at all. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is pretty but [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is just gorgeous, definitely a winner. I love [name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] tie in very nicely

I think you have geat, solid name choices. I like that each combo has a name with meaning and significance to you. I love the nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m] for [name_u]Barry[/name_u]! I particularly like [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] too, [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] is such a handsome, underused name and [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] seems like a sweet way to honour your husbands grandma.
For your [name_f]Violet[/name_f] combo I do prefer [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] too! [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is such an elegant, beautiful name. I imagine siblings named [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] swoon.
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] is also a lovely name! I don’t have much ideas for middles, but I do rather like the flower idea. Another similar subtle way to honour people that I’ve been enthused about lately is by using their (or your!) birth month gem. Ex. Mays is [name_f]Emerald[/name_f]. [name_u]July[/name_u] is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is [name_f]Peridot[/name_f], if your feeling a little brave ;).

All the best.

[name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] is actually really cute!!! Thank you

I really like [name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] together, they’re beautiful. I can also see [name_u]Barry[/name_u] added to the mix, it’s certainly different, maybe even a tiny bit dated ([name_u]Barry[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] as a combo makes me think of the 1950s) but I don’t think it’d stick out too much.
[name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] I only like with [name_f]Violet[/name_f], it seems to grand for “just” [name_u]Barry[/name_u] (though it would fit with [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] nn [name_u]Barry[/name_u], for exmple) and it’s too close to [name_f]Margo[/name_f], sharing the first three letters.
I’d personally stick to [name_f]Violet[/name_f] over [name_f]Serafina[/name_f], I just much prefer it and it fits in better with [name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_u]Barry[/name_u].
