Nice set - they feel classic, but not dusty, solid and cohesive.
Those meanings are nice too - subtle links
Thank you @Greyblue, hearing they are solid/cohesive together is reassuring!
Sounds pretty good to me - [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is my favourite. (it’s my son’s name!)
I like how [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] share a w, and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] share the “th”. I like the middle names, too, all being 2 syllables and complementing the first names.
I love hearing about another [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] - it’s such a great name!
I can’t believe I never noticed those similarities! Thank you for pointing those out! I love it
Solid set. Great vein.
I think these 4 work brilliantly well together. Most of these would be MNs for me, they don’t give me a ton of excitement, but they’re all solid, handsome names, and they go very well together. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] are my favorite of the bunch; I love [name_u]Owen[/name_u], but vastly prefer the [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] spelling (so inconvenient, but alas). I do like [name_u]Leo[/name_u] a little more with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] than [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], but only barely. I also think [name_m]Simon[/name_m] would work brilliantly with these four, should you need another option.
ETA: But I feel like this overall wasn’t as nice as I was hoping I came across - these are all truly great names! I would love to meet kids named [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] especially, and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is so sweet. Plus these are the kind of names I like best to see in public, because they’re so lovely… but nobody’s using my own favorites (which is good for me, [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] and [name_u]Aquila[/name_u] wouldn’t have the same charm if everyone used them! [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to add this because they are truly lovely names and I felt upon rereading my response that I felt like I sounded unimpressed and rather laissez faire about the whole idea of them. It’s a truly lovely set, reminds me of a pair of little charming [name_f]British[/name_f] boys.
@ashthedreamer No worries I totally understand, and thank you. I was not offended at all. [name_f]My[/name_f] name style isn’t for everyone, love the input! I have two sons now - [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], I should have clarified this, sorry.
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is an honor name and all middle names are honor name too. [name_f]My[/name_f] naming style has for sure gotten more traditional as I’ve gotten older haha…thank you again for the input, I do appreciate it!- I like [name_m]Simon[/name_m] but my DH is the pickiest person ever
Oh haha well in that case, by all means keep [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] . I think [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is perfect with them… [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is lovely but I don’t think he fits quite as well as [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] does with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and Theodore… I think [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] would also go great, maybe also [name_u]Henry[/name_u], Charles/Charlie, or [name_u]Jude[/name_u]? But [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] & [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are both really lovely with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] & [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]!
@ashthedreamer That made me crack up! Yeah definitely will be keeping those! Lol
Another name my Husband and I can actually agree on is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Maybe that’s better? I see what you mean about the fit…it’s driving me insane trying to get it right
Oh well I ADORE [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so I would agree to it even if it didn’t fit I think I like that [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is not so traditional but [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is one of my favorite classic/traditional names. I would be tickled pink to meet a baby [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. (Also know a family with a [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], which is interesting haha.)
This is just the most wholesome exchange, I love it! I also love the [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] spelling over [name_m]Louis[/name_m]! You’re definitely on the right track.
I agree that [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] fits the feel of your set a little better than [name_u]Owen[/name_u], more classic [name_f]British[/name_f] and less cowboy. I must admit I really like the name [name_u]Owen[/name_u], though it’s a little too common IMO. Maybe [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_u]Owen[/name_u]? You mentioned that the middles are all honor names so they might be more set… [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is lovely. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a great choice that fits well also. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Walter[/name_u] or [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] both flow.
@ChristinaMae114 Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out how to describe [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and I think you’re right - it definitely has a cowboy vibe. I suggested [name_m]Harold[/name_m] Walter/Harald [name_u]Walter[/name_u] and DH is neutral on it… not sure if that works with an [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]
All the names I suggest that go with [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]- like [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], my husband doesn’t like. It’s frustrating lol
I know how that goes! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband was very neutral on our girls’ names so I kinda got to choose them but he is much more particular on boys names so he’s basically picking that one. I guess that’s Dad’s job. Mine also would not even think about names until like the 6th month of pregnancy so hopefully when it’s more urgent your DH will give them some more thought.
For what it’s worth most of those alternatives (Nathaniel, [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], Malcolm) are on my list too! Maybe he’d like [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], [name_m]Russell[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], or [name_m]Harvey[/name_m].
