Thoughts on this uncommon name for our 3rd baby?

I like it. I’ve never heard of someone called Woods before, but [name_m]Forest[/name_m]/[name_m]Forrest[/name_m] is getting used, and it also reminds me of [name_m]Brooks[/name_m].

I am tempted to say avoid [name_m]Woody[/name_m] because toy story is back and it’s just so attached to that character.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong Woods and I think it’s quite nice like [name_m]Wells[/name_m]… [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] Woods though might yield better comfort as time progresses. I’m curious though I feel like there’s some golf connection to [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] as well as Woods and I’m not sure though?
All in all though I think either way it goes well with your other children’s names.

Although it sounds pleasent together, it just makes me think of golf - [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods - and the golf ball brand [name_m]Callaway[/name_m]…! Had to be honest x

I love it.

I like Woods, but dislike the nn [name_m]Woody[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Calloway[/name_m], but as a pp pointed out, Woods does bring to mind [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods AND [name_m]Callaway[/name_m] (different spelling) is a popular golf brand so immediately when I hear Woods [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] I think “This is a golf family…” I think both names would work in different combinations, but together I immediately think golf which may or may not be the feeling you’re after. Good luck! You have great taste in names!

Im not a big fan of Woods, just can’t pictute it on a boy.

What about

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] Woods

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]

Sorry didn’t mean to post wasn’t finished

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] love love love
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_u]West[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m]

Trees
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
[name_m]Koa[/name_m]

If I’m being totally honest I’m not really feeling Woods. It feels more surname than tree, not that I think you have to stick with a theme.

If you are very set on another w name, [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] would lend itself very easily to the nn [name_m]Woody[/name_m], but maybe it’s too similar to [name_f]Willow[/name_f]?

Other W names:
[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Wayne[/name_m]
[name_m]Wendel[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
Wolfram
[name_m]Waylon[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_u]Whit[/name_u]/[name_m]Whitford[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyclef[/name_m]

Where I dislike [name_m]Woody[/name_m] (it is personal from 40! years ago) I think Woods is stunning and would use it now.

What about [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] [name_m]Elwood[/name_m]? …NN [name_m]Woody[/name_m] as a child but a nice alternative FN for when he’s older.
This fits your theme of W and a tree name. What if Woods gets called Woodsie?
Others…
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_u]Spruce[/name_u]

I think Woods is really charming and Woods [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] sounds great, but I think pps have brought up some valid concerns when mentioning:
A.) The double golf associations
B.) [name_m]Woody[/name_m] from toy story
C.) Possible…uncomfortable connotations of the word wood. (Think “Good morning, Woods!”)
A & B aren’t really negative though, per se, and C could possibly never come up although I think it seems likely

I like both names. Woods goes with your other children, and [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] is a great middle. Together, though, they remind me of golf. [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] is a popular brand, and Woods is a type of club.

I’ve actually never heard/considered Woods before, but I’m really liking it. Yes, unexpected, but a common word with little grounds for teasing imo. I think it works! Like a pp said, it reminds me a lot of [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], which is one of my favorites.

Other suggestions:
[name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Walker[/name_u]
[name_m]Webb[/name_m]

Not a fan of the nickname [name_m]Woody[/name_m]. I would vote for [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] [name_m]Calloway[/name_m].

I actually like Woods. It is strong.

I love the suggestion of [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] someone made.
Woods reminds me of names like [name_m]Wells[/name_m] or [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] that are becoming more popular. My first (very strong) association with [name_m]Woody[/name_m] is [name_m]Toy[/name_m] [name_u]Story[/name_u], and I think most children will think the same so that should override any potential teasing opportunity.

association with Woody is Toy Story, and I think most children will think the same so that should override any potential teasing opportunity.

I agree, teasing in Kindergarten won’t be a problem. It’s high school where he may wish to begin using his middle name!

For me, Woods is very old-money [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_f]England[/name_f]-y. I don’t dislike it, but it does have a very strong [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] League feeling to it (at least for me).

Other posters have mentioned a number of possible issues, so I won’t repeat them. The thing that I noticed that would bother me is that your older two children have two-syllable first names & Woods is just one syllable. Using [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] eliminates that & still enables [name_m]Woody[/name_m] as a nickname. I was also curious as to whether your older children have nicknames or if just Woods would have one.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but perhaps [name_m]Weston[/name_m] would be a consideration?
