I do not care for it. Maybe ok for a middle. Sounds more masculine to me, unless you throw Veil in the mix. I guess
I prefer the [name_u]Vale[/name_u] spelling.
I much prefer the [name_u]Vale[/name_u] spelling. I think it’s kind of funky! I much prefer it for a boy, with a classic male name for a middle:
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
I like it for either gender, slightly prefer for a girl due to the similarity to nickname [name_u]Val[/name_u]. I’d spell it [name_u]Vale[/name_u]. It strikes me as a sleek, ethereal nature name. I’d pair it with something more feminine in a combo, e.g:
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
I prefer the [name_u]Vale[/name_u] spelling. I prefer it on a boy, but think it would make a cool choice for a girl, especially as a middle name.

[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
I think it’s great! As pps have said, it strikes me as a cool, strong, simple, unusual but not [name_m]OTT[/name_m] nature name. There’s something a little bit mystical about it too, which appeals to me.
I think it works equally well for either gender. I personally slightly prefer it for a girl (agree that it makes a fantastic middle!) but it would make a very handsome boy name too.
I like it. Maybe best for a middle of its for a girl. It does mean “goodbye” in Latin.
I don’t like it for either, but especially for a girl. It reminds me of other unattractive male names such as [name_u]Dale[/name_u], [name_u]Gale[/name_u], [name_m]Cael[/name_m], [name_u]Yael[/name_u].
I quite like [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and prefer it for a girl.
I don’t like [name_u]Vale[/name_u] or Veil either. The newscaster [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Guthrie[/name_u] has a daughter named [name_u]Vale[/name_u] and I have always thought the name was odd…especially for a girl. I think it’s passable for a middle name though.
I love it! I strongly prefer [name_u]Vale[/name_u] over [name_m]Vail[/name_m]. [name_m]Vail[/name_m] would be a place name for me ([name_m]Vail[/name_m], CO). [name_u]Vale[/name_u] is the poetic valley.
I like a few different versions of “valley” names… Valea is another one. I do prefer [name_u]Vale[/name_u] for a boy though.
To be super technical here, vale is the imperative of “to go” in Latin if I recall correctly, so it means “Go!” Yes, it is used as a way of saying goodbye, but that’s not its only meaning.
I don’t think thats necessarily a dealbreaker, but worth checking with Spanish speakers perhaps if [name_u]Vale[/name_u] means anything in Spanish (being a Romance language).
[name_u]Vale[/name_u] is okay, I prefer it as a boy’s name.
