Thoughts on this vintage name you don’t hear much anymore…

Thoughts on [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]?
Nickname [name_u]Rori[/name_u] or Glo or [name_f]Lolo[/name_f].

Siblings are [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] (Ella/Elle ) and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (Addie/ Ade).

Thanks!

I like [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. We were actually considering [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] for our second daughter, but went with a different name instead. I like that it can be pronounced in both [name_f]English[/name_f] and Spanish. I also like the -ia ending.

I really like [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]! I think it would be on our list if it wasn’t my husband’s aunt’s name.
I think it’s especially cute for a [name_u]December[/name_u] baby.

I love it so much! [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is on the top of my list for a daughter. The only [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] I ever met was middle aged when I was a child, so I thought of it as an older persons name, although not super strongly because I only knew one. But as an adult I met this beautiful young blonde immigrant from Romania named [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], and it totally changed how I saw the name. I loved hearing it.

[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] has all the things I love about [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]: feminine, ia ending, pronouncable in many languages, obvious to spell, and clear positive meaning that people know about without looking it up. But unlike [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], it isn’t insanely popular all over the world, which is what had me searching for alternatives. The only thing I feel you have to be careful with is the middle name, because [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] sounds like an adjective. I want to use the name of someone important to me as an honor middle and I didn’t want to sound like I was calling that person Glorious–that is a little more honoring than I meant! I think I could solve that though by using two middles, which is what made [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] rise to the top of my list.

And in your case, I think it sounds great with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - especially with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - so vintage and sweet! Glo is such a cute nickname.

I don’t like it very much, but that mainly due to a bad association

Not much to be honest. I prefer [name_f]Glory[/name_f].

I like it. It’s got a kind of cool, offbeat retro vibe, but without feeling too hipster or clunky.

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] Gyllenhaal and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Sarsgaard have a [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and a [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], and I love those together, they feel really funky and fun.

[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] are more pretty and current, but I still think [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] would make a nice addition to the sister set.

It was one of my favs when I was a kid! I used to write neverending stories about that ginger girl named [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], who went on all sorts of adventures with her friends [name_u]Jack[/name_u] and [name_f]Daniella[/name_f] (projecting much).
I don’t like [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] that much anymore, but I still have a special spot in my heart for it.
[name_u]Rori[/name_u] is cool, but I like [name_u]Glow[/name_u] and Golly as nns

[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is actually my grandma’s name, I definitely think it can be revived! A while ago [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] Gyllenhaal named her daughter [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. Has a retro spunk to it that I think is super fun, plus all the nn’s you listed are adorable! I think it goes well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] too, all three work in multiple languages and are easy to pronounce (especially with [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] because there’s not many ways you can stray from the typical pronunciation, I’m Puerto Rican and my grandma was partly raised there and it works in tons of languages)

I think [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is a stunning name! I love the nicknames you’ve listed but I also really like [name_f]Glory[/name_f] as a nickname, I actually knew an old lady called [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] but she went by [name_f]Glory[/name_f] and she was such an amazing quirky woman so I love it because of it.

I think [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] are a slightly different style but it does sound good as a sibset.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I think that [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is just lovely. It feels strong yet sweet. It’s light & airy, but feels like it has good substance, you know? And it’s simple but not at all popular. It goes really nicely w/Eliana & [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] too. I like the nn [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] best. What do you think of that?

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I usually don’t like the “g” sound in names as a preference but [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] I really like the sound of, it’s super cute. I love the meaning as well!

I kind of like it. It reminds me of that girl from the old t.v show “Lulu” lol. [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] was girly and had curly, blonde hair if my memory serves me correct.

I like [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]! I think she fits well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I know a 15 year old [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] who wears it well, so I definitely see the sweet vintage side of her!
