thoughts on this?

[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] (ay-lee), we had this when pregnant with dd1 and I still love the name (we are Scottish). The only doubt I’m having is if middle name is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] it may sound a bit like Hail [name_f]Mary[/name_f]?

Am I over-thinking this? Its not like you say your middle name all the time but aware it may cause her some problems as she grows up and other kids spot this?

Thanks

Hmm… yeah I don’t like the sound of [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I think it’s the two ‘ee’ endings. [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] might sound better.

I don’t like the flow.

The flow is a little abrupt, but I don’t hear “Hail [name_f]Mary[/name_f].”

Would [name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f] work better? [name_f]Mary[/name_f] was my gran and would love to keep it but also don’t want to have a silly sounding name

I don’t hear “Hail [name_f]Mary[/name_f]” but the names don’t flow well at all. [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] would sound better…

I agree with the others. I don’t hear Hail [name_f]Mary[/name_f] at all, though the flow is off. Honestly, kids will find something to tease another about if they want to – whether it is obvious or not. (for example, my friend’s little boy is named [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] – he gets called Potato :frowning: . None of us thought of that!).

I think using a variation of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] would work better. There are tons of them! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f]. Some thoughts:

[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Maris[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]

Also think [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] sounds darling.
