Thoughts on updated list

With our girl’s list pretty solid (with the exception of a new GP - I’ll post in the Girl Forum), I’ve been focusing on our boy’s list the last few days. Please let me know your thoughts and feel free to mix and match if you think some need fixing:

[name_u]Ren[/name_u] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] - I’ve loved [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] for a little while, but I recently discovered it’s somewhat related to maiden name, [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m], so it’s shot right up! [name_u]Ren[/name_u] is my current top contender, I love the simplicity and nature meaning, which fits with my subtle nature theme for the girls, but do [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f] work? I don’t care about alliteration, but does [name_u]Ren[/name_u] just look like a contraction of [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f]?

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u] - I really like [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but we are not religious in the slightest. Is it too churchy? [name_u]Everest[/name_u] is a GP - we’re climbers.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] - [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] as above. Does it work as a first? [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is a name that I’ve just always liked.

[name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] - DHs favourite is [name_m]Merrick[/name_m], and I adore it too. He is Welsh and my family is Scottish - seems like a nice name for us mixing the heritages. We both love [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] and yes, we are aware that there are girls named [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u].

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] - A last-minute addition. [name_m]Davis[/name_m] is honouring a [name_m]David[/name_m], and [name_u]Remy[/name_u] is just a name I love. Considered using [name_m]Remus[/name_m], but I like [name_u]Remy[/name_u] more, and that’s what he would be called 99% of the time if we used it.

What are your favourites? Any more suggestions based on our style?

A currently unpaired name that I can’t forget about is [name_m]Levon[/name_m], but I think I prefer [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] so wouldn’t use it. I had [name_m]Levon[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] before.

I adore [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]. I feel neutral about [name_u]Ren[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f] and [name_u]Ren[/name_u] are a bit close. Actually I could easily see [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f] being called [name_u]Wren[/name_u]/[name_u]Ren[/name_u].

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u] - I really like [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but we are not religious in the slightest. Is it too churchy? [name_u]Everest[/name_u] is a GP - we’re climbers.

I do not consider [name_u]Dean[/name_u] religious at all. I personally adore [name_u]Everett[/name_u], feel neutral about [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. I think the combo flows well.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] - [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] as above. Does it work as a first? [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is a name that I’ve just always liked.

As I said above, adore [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]. [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] can definitely work as a full name. I also adore [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. I adore [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] as a combo, would also adore [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u].

I like [name_m]Merrick[/name_m].

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] is okay, same with [name_m]Davis[/name_m]. I adore [name_m]David[/name_m], and adore the nickname [name_m]Dax[/name_m]. [name_m]David[/name_m] is also an honor name for me. I think [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] and [name_m]Dax[/name_m] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] would make handsome combos.

[name_u]Ren[/name_u] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] - I don’t mind [name_u]Ren[/name_u] for a boy, but it is a girl’s name in my head so when I hear it, I assume girl. I don’t love the rhyme-y sound of [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and [name_m]Len[/name_m], either. It sort of sounds like a comic book character or a cartoon. I do think [name_u]Ren[/name_u] sounds like a contraction of [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f].

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u] - [name_u]Dean[/name_u] is a solid name and while I prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u] to [name_u]Everest[/name_u], I think [name_u]Everest[/name_u] sounds just fine here. [name_m]How[/name_m] is [name_u]Dean[/name_u] religious? I don’t get that connection at all.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I like this combo MUCH better than [name_u]Ren[/name_u] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is a really handsome name. I don’t like the nn [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] for [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], which is the biggest reason I haven’t put [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] on my own list. Otherwise, I like the name and think this is a strong combo.

[name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] - I really love the name [name_m]Merrick[/name_m]! Handsome and unique. I am neutral on [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]. It does sound a bit like a girl’s name to me.

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] - I like the flow and sound of this combo a lot. I tend to like [name_u]Remy[/name_u] as a nickname more than a full name, particularly for [name_u]Remington[/name_u]. I do like the name [name_m]Remus[/name_m], as you mentioned, but [name_m]Remus[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] definitely doesn’t sound as good as [name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m]. I like the use of [name_m]Davis[/name_m] to honor a [name_m]David[/name_m]. I had [name_m]Davis[/name_m] on my list as a middle, as well. It’s definitely underused, which is really nice.

I like [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] separately but not sold on them nex to each other because they’ve both got that -en sound so close together. [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_u]Ren[/name_u] would flow nicely though! [name_u]Ren[/name_u] seems like it could be almost a short form of [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f], so I probably wouldn’t use them as first names together, but as a middle name it’s totally fine.

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] doesn’t give me a church vibe but more of a preppy feel? So I don’t think everyone would assume that you are a very religious family. I really like [name_u]Everest[/name_u]! And it’s great that you have a special connection to it. [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u] is handsome.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] - flows nicely and sounds gentlemanly. I think [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] is a good first name candidate.

[name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] - Also fond of this one, and I think since [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] is in the middle the fact that some girls are called it ceases to matter.

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] - I can see a [name_u]Remy[/name_u] with your other names, though I will point out that [name_u]Remy[/name_u] is used on girls at a decent rate too, like [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]. I’ve personally only seen little girl Remys, though I don’t think it’s unusable for a boy. [name_m]Davis[/name_m] works as an honor name and [name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] seems better than [name_m]Remus[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] flow wise and given that you’d call him [name_u]Remy[/name_u] most anyhow.

[name_m]Levon[/name_m] is good but I think [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] seems more special to you, so I’d stick with that instead.

[name_u]Ren[/name_u] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]
I love [name_u]Ren[/name_u] but I’m not a big fan of the double “en” sounds

[name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_u]Dean[/name_u] reminds me more of colleges than church (an my grandmother because it’s her name). The combo is great.

[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
Great combo

[name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
I love [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] ([name_u]Brinn[/name_u]) for a boy. [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] is my middle name so I love it.

[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_m]Davis[/name_m]
Another great combo

I like [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] the most from your list. I also like [name_u]Everest[/name_u] and I think that could possibly work as a first name.

[name_u]Bryn[/name_u] means “hill, mound” so it could also be a “honor” name like [name_u]Everest[/name_u] for your love of climbing.
