Recently I’ve been throwing around the idea of [name_f]Valentia[/name_f]. I’d pronounce it vah-LEHN-tee-uh. I love the sound, look, feel, and the potential nickname options of [name_f]Leni[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] (which I have been trying to find a full name for, forever), or even [name_u]Vale[/name_u]… which may be more of a stretch?
I’m sure it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but what are your general thoughts and/or MN suggestions? So far I have it paired up as [name_f]Valentia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
It sound like a mix of a false [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and a false [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] to me, and I find the pronunciation a bit unnatural.
It’s not a bad name, just a confusing one for me.
I can definitely see that since it’s so close to [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]! I’m not usually one to go for something that sounds invented, but this one has charmed me. For some context, there was a [name_m]Roman[/name_m] province called [name_f]Valentia[/name_f].
I do like [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] and [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] but they weren’t quite right for me.
I not a fan of that whole family of sugary sweet, February fourteenth- type names. This one made me do a double take. I think it’s unique but would have spelling/pronounciation issues and sounds to my ear lke “volunteer” said with a speech impediment or accent. But it’s not the worst I’ve come across.
I like [name_f]Valentia[/name_f] she’s feminine and spunky however despite being a place name therefore having historical context which always helps it could be confused/mistaken for [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Valentia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] it’s a pretty name and I think [name_u]Vale[/name_u] works as a cool nickname.
