Thoughts on Virgo/middle names for it?

I’ve always loved the name Virgo for a little girl, regardless of what her zodiac is. I mentioned it to my boyfriend and now he loves it for a boy or girl. I’m still mostly set on it for a girl, but now I’m wondering about middle names that would sound good with it and whether or not people would find it too weird; the last thing I’d want for my kid is to grow up with a name everyone mocks.

So, is that name too “out there”? And can anyone think of middle names (because I’m completely stumped on that one)?

I feel like any kid named Virgo is going to be the target of a lot of virgin jokes in middle and high school (at the very least), since Virgo is literally Latin for virgin. And taking into account how mainstream the zodiac is now, I would be hesitant to name a kid Virgo unless they actually were a Virgo.

It might work better as a middle name?

As a first name or a middle, I think I’d pair it with something more feminine (and useable), so your kid has another option if they decide they don’t want to go by Virgo when they’re older! I think something like Vivienne Virgo or Virgo Aurelia might be nice? And I remember seeing the name Willa Virgo in another thread.

I can see the appeal. It’s like a blend or [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. I would reserve it for a baby who’s sun sign was Virgo or at least had strong Virgo influence in their birthchart.

Virgo [name_f]Helene[/name_f]
Virgo [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
Virgo [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
Virgo [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
Virgo [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

Eh, you might get a few jokesters but its not the worst out there name I’ve ever heard and its kind of cute.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about Virgo [name_f]Corrine[/name_f]?

To be honest it sounds a bit ridiculous to me. Especially for a child who isn’t a Virgo, but either way. It’s one of those names people joke about when talking about ridiculously hipster names.
What about [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] nicknamed Virgo? Or something similar if [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is too common for you, like [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]/[name_f]Vianne[/name_f]/[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Vera[/name_f] could be called Virgo too. For something as out there as Virgo but with less teasing potential, [name_m]Viridian[/name_m] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] called Virgo?

To be honest I think Virgo would sound odd as a first name, especially if your child isn’t actually a Virgo. The meaning “virgin” could also inspire teasing. I would recommend using it as a middle name.

I love the sound of it, but honestly I can see someone with this name being (very sadly and wrongly, yes) teased for it. The “virgin” connection is very obvious and it just seems like the sort of name you’d have to explain/make excuses for, almost, a lot. It’s a shame, but I wouldn’t use it in the first name spot. I think it would make for a very cool and quirky middle name, though!

I think Virgo would open your child up to a lot of teasing, if you’re really attached to it I would use it as a second name.

I think it sounds like a stripper name to be honest, but I also get the appeal and think it’s cool - one of my favorite girls’ names is [name_u]Hero[/name_u], which is similarly out there. I just don’t think Virgo is suitable as a legal given name, especially with the familiarization of astrology as others mentioned. (But then, I once thought [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] was cool but unusable and that shifted over time.)
