I’m really liking the idea of the name [name_u]West[/name_u] for my daughter due in [name_u]August[/name_u] but it’s been difficult to find forum posts, information, etc. about the name online since most of the results have to do with [name_u]Kim[/name_u] Kardashian, [name_m]Kanye[/name_m] [name_u]West[/name_u] and their daughter [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]West[/name_u]. I’m not a fan of theirs but I also don’t associate the name with them so it doesn’t bother me. To me, [name_u]West[/name_u] is a direction and a word that has been around for eons, they do not have ownership of it now. Maybe they do but I hope not! [name_u]West[/name_u] makes me think of a compass and travel and I like the simple, cool vibe it gives off. Also, when I’ve been able to get information about the name online, it’s almost always in the context of a boy’s name. I like boys names for girls in general so I don’t mind that it doesn’t have a super feminine sound but I prefer it for a girl rather than a boy.
I’m curious: what are your impressions of the name? And do any middle names jump to mind? (Last name starts with “M” and sounds like "Marker-dontay)
