[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! After reading numerous threads on this forum, I have decided to finally make my own thread. Im expecting my first baby girl & my due date is [name_f]October[/name_f] 31. I’ve always loved the name [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and we are going to use it. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] trees are graceful, beautiful and magical. Im so happy to have my first bundle of joy during the fall because I just admire the beauty of the season. My husband’s agreed on an autumnal middle name & we have chosen the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
What do you think of the combo [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]? I would love to read your suggestions and feedback?
And last question: what would be the perfect sisters names to [name_f]Willow[/name_f]? I’ve been thinking of possible sisters names for the future. So far we really like [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. Any ideas?
Names we are thinking about:
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
Currently, if I had 3 girls I would name them [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. Your thoughts?
Congratulations on your little autumn baby! I love this season too. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are both names I adore, and I think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is lovely.
Here are a few names I think would go well with [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] in addition to your list:
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] (probably too close to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but perhaps not)
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a little plant-y for me personally, but I do think that it flows well regardless. I’d prefer them as sisters, though… [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] would be my favorite sibset from your list.
My favorite combos from your list:
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Willow[/name_f], great choice! I love the trees too, they really are magical :). [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] sounds great to me, but I do think it’s a bit too botanical. What about [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f]? I adore [name_f]Aria[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] would make gorgeous sister names. But [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f] would be a fabulous combo too!
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a bit botanical but I don’t mind it. I think it’s a beautiful name. I like [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] too but I think as sisters I would choose one or the other. As far as suggestions I think [name_f]Serena[/name_f] would be perfect as a name for a sister to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] though. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is a pretty good choice too but [name_f]Serena[/name_f] just has more spunk and bounce to me.
We have a little girl named [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. She is 4 and I could not love her name any more than I do. I was actually a bit nervous to use it at first but I am so happy that I was feeling bold. We get compliments on her name all of the time and others have been inspired to use it, as well (which is actually pretty cool!)
With that said–[name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is stunning! You should absolutely use it.
A few of the names you have listed are actually on our long list too:
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Silvie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] (LIE-rah [name_f]Bree[/name_f]-oh-nee)(IIRC, there’s a verse in the Bible about playing harps by the willows, & lyres are somewhat like harps…& bryony is a vine like ivy)
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] or [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and it sounds nice with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], but I personally wouldn’t pick it because they’re two different botanicals. From a recent ‘autumn’ thread, what about: [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Clove[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Jora[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].
I also would pick either [name_f]Briar[/name_f] or [name_f]Aria[/name_f] for sisters not both - they’re too similar and diminish each other. I would pick [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_u]Seren/name_u, or [name_u]Haven[/name_u].
