To me the name sounds old fashioned and was popular in the early 1900’s. Its short for [name_f]Marcella[/name_f], [name_f]Griselda[/name_f], or is a stand alone name. Personally, I like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] better but my significant other doesn’t like [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. He loves [name_f]Zella[/name_f]. I like the combo [name_f]Zella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Other possible sibling names are his other favorite [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Veda[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f] or [name_f]Clio[/name_f]. Most likely [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Veda[/name_f].
[name_f]Zella[/name_f] is cute -unexpected and pretty!
[name_f]Zilla[/name_f]/[name_f]Zillah[/name_f] and [name_f]Della[/name_f] also sprung to mind
I think it’s nice but I do prefer the sound of [name_f]Zelda[/name_f].
I looove [name_f]Zella[/name_f]! I think it fits well with most of your other name choices as well.
I really like it! (though I prefer [name_f]Zelda[/name_f])
It feels like a nickname, but at the same time it also work as a stand-alone name
I think [name_f]Zella[/name_f] is really cute and sweet, but it definitely feels way more modern than traditional or vintage. Probably because of the trendy [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and names like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] turning into [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] to be cool etc. It works with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_u]Vida[/name_u] but I’d be a bit surprised to see it with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] or any or the others.
