Thoughts on Zephaniah?

Thoughts on [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m]?
We’re expecting our first child, a boy. We are of modern [name_m]Christian[/name_m] faith and would love a Biblical name but with a bit of spunk. My husband and I love [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m] so much but our families aren’t convinced.
His middle names will be [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] and [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - “Zeppy” or “Zeph” for short.
So, we would appreciate your opinion!

I think [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m] is a handsome name. Zeppy is a cute nn, and Zeph a little more stately :).
I like [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m] [name_m]Alfred[/name_m]

Different and spunky. Zeph is an awesome NN. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

I’m not keen on it, but the nicknames are appealing. I much prefer [name_m]Zacheus[/name_m] for an unusual biblical Z name.

I don’t mind it, we threw it around briefly too, but decided against it for this bub.

If you are wanting an unusual boys biblical name that starts with Z, how about Zerubbabel?

Otherwise, honestly as far as names go, I think [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m] is completely useable. The biblical name DH and I both love (for meaning, and character legacy more than anything) is [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m], but we are really struggling with the viability of using that as a first name. [name_m]Zephaniah[/name_m] however, I’d use in a heartbeat. I don’t feel like it’s nearly as cumbersome as [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m]. Definitely a keeper.
