Thoughts on

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].

I find this to be charming and literary - classic enough to be enduring, rare enough to seem unexpected. DH on the other hand is concerned it’s too “basic” given his singular association to the sitcom Friends. He likes the sound, enjoys the name, but think’s everyone will ask us if we loved the TV show.

Would love to hear some other opinions!

I never liked the sound of it. Same with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. I think it has something to do with the double E sound in [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
It is a solid and not overly popular choice that doesn’t seem to have spelling obstacles- so it has a lot going for it.

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a very recent addition to my list! It was not love at first sight, but now I love its spunkiness and balance between classic & unique. I think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is fabulous. I agree, it feels rich with history and is quite charming. I especially love that it is cute for a child, but can age well.

I have not seen Friends, but hopefully your husband can get over that association once he meets an actual person with the name! It sounds like your husband likes the sound of it, so [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] might be great for you.

Also, [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] has a really nice meaning, which might turn him on to the depth of the name. NB says it means “radiant, shining” and BTN defines it as “bright, pure.” I have [name_f]Astraea[/name_f] as a middle for [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], because it means “star.” I love the imagery.

Sorry for the rambling reply… hopefully you got my enthusiasm for [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Good luck!

I think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is lovely. It’s fun, bubbly, certainly quirky in vibe yet it also possesses a feeling of class and maturity. I find it to be a youthful name but not one too cute or immature for an adult.

There’s nothing wrong with it. I don’t like its sound.

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is not my favorite name but it’s nice overall. I also strictly think of the zany character on Friends.

I love it! I think its fresh and vibrant!

Before the internet when I first read [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], I thought it was pho-eeb. [name_f]Imagine[/name_f] my surprise when I realized it was [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] from Friends name! I haven’t been able to shake that, so I’m not a fan personally; but there’s really nothing wrong with it. The association is pretty heavy, I wouldn’t expect 0 comments on it.
