[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]: I really liked this name a couple of years ago, but now it has kinda been worn off on me. All I think about when I hear the name is the opera, [name]Daphne[/name], which isnāt a favourite of mine.
[name]Adele[/name]: A really lovely name. Obviously thereās a certain Miss Adkins who makes it even lovelier, but Iāve always love it. Itās so nice to say out loud and pretty to look at.
[name]Clara[/name]: Also one of my favourites, it, like [name]Adele[/name], sounds incredibly gorgeous when you say it out loud. Then there is the Tchaikovsky reference with The Nutcracker which is great too.
Some suggestions:
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Marion[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name]
I love [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Adele[/name]! They have the same vibesā¦somewhat perky and spicey. [name]Clara[/name] surprised me being included with those two as it is a little more traditional and reserved.
I love all 3 names! Great choices! [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] are my favorites!
[name]Daphne[/name]: I love this name!! I guess I imagine an older girl or teenager/adult more than a little baby, but thatās okay - she wonāt be a baby for long. Great name.
[name]Adele[/name]: For some reason, Iām not into it; on the other hand, I adore [name]Adeline[/name].
[name]Clara[/name]: My favorite of these three. I donāt like [name]Claire[/name] at all, but I find [name]Clara[/name] so beautiful and lovely. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] might even make a nice first/middle combo!
Here are some suggestions, in addition to [name]Adeline[/name]:
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Bryony[/name]
[name]Belle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name]
[name]Dinah[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Livia[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
While Iām not the biggest fan of [name]Daphne[/name], I would actually like to meet a little one (as well as a Daphna). I strongly dislike [name]Adele[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] is very beautiful.
[name]Daphne[/name] is great. I met the sweetest little [name]Daphne[/name] a few months ago, and I wouldnāt mind meeting another one!
[name]Adele[/name] - I loved [name]Adele[/name] as a girl when I first read about Mr. [name]Rochester[/name]'s ward in [name]Jane[/name] [name]Eyre[/name], but she feels very flat to me now. Thereās just not nearly as much spunk to her as [name]Daphne[/name] or [name]Clara[/name].
[name]Clara[/name] - by far my favorite from your list. [name]Clara[/name] has spunk, charm, elegance, beauty - I just canāt say enough good things about her!
Suggestions: [name]Iris[/name], [name]Cora[/name] (or [name]Cordelia[/name]), [name]Veda[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name] - not sure if those are all up your alley, but I thought I might give it a shot!
Nopeā¦ Sorry donāt like any of these
I think all 3 are understatedly elegant. Iāve been considering [name]Daphne[/name] tooā¦but a little worried she might get called [name]Daffy[/name]?
[name]Daphne[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] and underused.
[name]Adele[/name] - Itās nice but itās growing so quickly. I prefer [name]Adela[/name].
[name]Clara[/name] - [name]One[/name] of the names on my short list!
Hmmā¦
[name]Daphne[/name] - on the Polish Jew side of my family I have a great aunt [name]Daphne[/name], I never liked her name she was named by one of the English neighbours who still remained in the immigrant refugee area of the [name]East[/name] End. She wished her mother had named her [name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Shoshana[/name] instead of simply [name]Daphne[/name], so because she hated it, it caused me to hate her name so till this day I still really dislike [name]Daphne[/name] as does my Great Aunt.
[name]Adele[/name] - beautiful name, has this really sophiscated aura and I love the beauty of it. [name]Adele[/name] simply flows and I adore the association of [name]Adele[/name] the singer who has an angelic voice, is beautiful and funny. I love that association!
[name]Clara[/name] - another beatuiful name that sounds very crisp, elegant and soulful. [name]Clara[/name] oozes feminity and looks very elegant she would work well with [name]Adele[/name] as sisters. The sibling set of [name]Adele[/name] & [name]Clara[/name] would be really majestic and spunky. Nutcracker association is awesome too.
xxx
I like [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Daphne[/name] is just fine. I prefer [name]Adele[/name] as a middle name.
[name]Daphne[/name] - I love [name]Daphne[/name], but I canāt get passed the ādaff/daffyā part of the name. I prefer [name]Delphine[/name].
[name]Adele[/name] - I really like [name]Adele[/name]. It think it is a great choice, even though it will probably climb the charts. I love the meaning of it. I think I prefer [name]Adelaide[/name], with [name]Adele[/name] as a nn.
[name]Clara[/name] - My favorite of your three. It is on my own list and I think it is lovely and fresh.
Thanks everyone for the input! It is very helpful to me to see other peopleās opinions and suggestions that I have never thought of.
@shvibziks - I really like the suggestions of [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Johanna[/name]. Unfortunately DH doesnāt like [name]Johanna[/name], but I do.
@palejewel - I love the name [name]Adeline[/name], but prefer the pronounciation of ada-leen, and am afraid that many people will say [name]Add[/name]-a-line. What do you think? You other suggeestions are great, especially like [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Georgina[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] (not sure if DH will like it, but itās pretty) and [name]Juliet[/name]. I think [name]Juliet[/name] might be too close to my name of [name]Julia[/name] though. Any thoughts on that?
@garnet - [name]Love[/name] your suggestions of [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name]. I also like [name]Emmeline[/name] but DH turned it down flat
I agree with scarletrune, I prefer [name]Adela[/name]. I also love [name]Ada[/name] (ay-dah).
[name]Daphne[/name] is very pretty, I am always concerned with possible unflattering nicknames which keep me from being a bigger fan.
[name]Clara[/name] is the most āhomeyā of these three. I imagine [name]Clara[/name] as a dear friend of the [name]March[/name] sisters in ā[name]Little[/name] Womenā.
Some of my favorites that you may find similar to your picks:
[name]Ada[/name] (again)
[name]Beata[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Delia[/name]
[name]Della[/name]

[name]Minna[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]LOVE[/name] these names! I usually really love [name]Daphne[/name] as a first, but I think a good pairing would be [name]Clara[/name] [name]Daphne[/name]!!! I think they both really complement each other!
@Jamesina66 - Thanks for the input. From your suggestions I really like, [name]Ada[/name], [name]Celia[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], and [name]Minna[/name]!
I love [name]Adele[/name]. Itās so pretty! There are a few varitations of [name]Adele[/name], my favorites being [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name]. If you like all three names a lot, you could pick one for an fn and have two mnās.
Also, if you were to add [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adeline[/name] [name]Clara[/name] or [name]Adeline[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Clara[/name] are nice! You might do something like [name]Adele[/name] [name]Clara[/name]. I prefer [name]Adeline[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Clara[/name]. I wish you luck.
All 3 are gorgeous names!
[name]Daphne[/name]: This name is nice enough, thereās just something stopping me from loving it, and I donāt know what it is. I also think it is rather heavily associated with Scooby Doo.
[name]Adele[/name]: So aleek, vintage and sophisticated!
[name]Clara[/name]: The only Cla- name I like for girls, but I am not a fan of the claire-uh pronunciation.
What aboutā¦
