[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]: I love this name! It’s wonderful!
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u]: Not my personal taste, but I like how it sounds.
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u]: Not my style, but it is the name of my cousin and it therefore gets a pass from me. I prefer [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u]: I love [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] too! Right up my alley :))
[name_m]Ares[/name_m]: Not my taste at all, would definitely take quite the character to pull it off.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]: I don’t mind it, but not my fave. It is fun to write in cursive, though
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u]: I prefer just Gray/Grey.
[name_u]Cory[/name_u]: Meh. Name of one of my old teachers (we use first names for our teachers at my school) so it just seems dated to me.
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]: It reminds me of the Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. I like how it sounds better than how it looks.
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]: I think it’s popular for good reason! Definitely meets the softer sound that most people (at least on Nameberry) are going for these days.

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] - Cute but very popular. Feels over used at this point
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u] - Feels more like a dog or cat name than a baby name
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u] - I feel like this would be confused for [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] a lot. I first read it as [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] - I like this one! It feels vintage and not overly popular.
[name_m]Ares[/name_m] - Not sure how to pronounce this one. Feels to close to Area or Aires
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] - Meh. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it.
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] - Feels over used. I know a ton of Graysons
[name_u]Cory[/name_u] - I like this one! I don’t think I actually know any Cory’s
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] - Feels a little dated. I’d prefer [name_u]Edison[/name_u] or a more fresh version.
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - Meh. A little too trendy for me.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I’ll even rank them favorite to least favorite.

Dashiell-This is such a beautiful name. But in a very masculine way! It’s strong & smart & artsy & interesting. And the nn [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is spunky & lovable & unexpected.

Elliott-Such a charming kind clever slightly quirky name. It feels classic & fresh at the same time.

Silas-This is nice. I think it feels sweet & thoughtful but still rugged & cowboy-ish. Getting a tad popular, but is old fashioned too.

Cory-I think that I’d really prefer [name_u]Corey[/name_u]. I don’t love the name, but it’s kind of cute & sporty & not heard very often these days.

Edmund-I quite like [name_m]Edgar[/name_m], [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] & [name_m]Edward[/name_m], but can’t get into this one. It just feels stuffy to me, but it’s not a bad name. It’s sophisticated & unique & has sweet nns of [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] & [name_m]Ned[/name_m]. [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] too, but I prefer [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] or [name_m]Ned[/name_m] myself.

Ares-Is this Air-ease? I like it. It’s different & feels interesting & strong. I think that pronunciation may be a big issue. If it’s ‘Are-ease’, I love the nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u]!

Jasper-Not my cup of tea, but totally fine. It reminds me of the word jester, which is a little far fetched. Most people seem to like it.

Grayson-This is just really trendy & over done. It’s not unpleasant sounding. I don’t mind the nn [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as much as [name_u]Grayson[/name_u].

Rylan-See above, but maybe even more made-up-y.

Harlow-This is used more for girls, but I just don’t like it. It reminds me of the word harlot.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] - love, definitely a classic that still works today!
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u]- reads a bit feminine, but could be really cool
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u] - a cooler version of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] - rising in popularity, but feels pretty solid
[name_m]Ares[/name_m] - personally not a huge fan, but could make a really cool name
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] - the nickname dash is really cool
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] - personally I’m not a major fan, it just feels pretty overused lately
[name_u]Cory[/name_u] - a little dated but would be fresh on a little boy today
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] - love it! Super cool and classic
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - I think this is a really cool name, and even though it’s a Biblical name it isn’t super religious sounding

I love [name_u]Rylan[/name_u], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], and [name_m]Silas[/name_m]! They’re all on my list :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]Grayson[/name_u], and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] are all very handsome choices. I like how they feel strong and sturdy but also adventurous and fun. [name_m]Ares[/name_m] is also super cool.

The only two I don’t like personally are [name_u]Cory[/name_u] and [name_u]Harlow[/name_u]. [name_u]Cory[/name_u] feels dated to me, and I prefer [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] on a girl.

Thank you everyone! I so appreciate all the wonderful, helpful comments!

Like:
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] - Classic, popular. A nice solid option.
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] - I like [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] a lot. Feels outdoorsy and traditional.
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] - I really like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]. Definitely the best of the [name_m]Ed[/name_m]- names. It’s a little bit posh, but I think it could work.

Neutral:
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] - I trip over the pronunciation a bit. I like [name_u]Dash[/name_u], though!
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] - I think this name is overdone, honestly. I see it everywhere. I prefer just [name_u]Gray[/name_u].
[name_u]Cory[/name_u] - A bit dated, but a sweet sound!
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - I love the meaning of this name, and its gentle sound. I do have a lingering Da [name_m]Vinci[/name_m] Code association, though…

Not for me:
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u] - I would assume [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] was a girl. I also don’t love the sound, personally. It sounds like harlot, which I know is not a frequently used word, but I can’t break the association.
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u] - This feels very trendy and I don’t love [name_m]Ry[/name_m]- names to begin with.
[name_m]Ares[/name_m] - The god of war is not something I’d want to bestow on my child. If you like the sound, I’d go for [name_u]Aries[/name_u].
