Lately my style of names have changed so drastically, I think maybe because although I love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_m]Perseus[/name_m], and [name_f]Luna[/name_f], I feel like none sat right with me. I came up with a few combinations that I really love (With a help from others on here) and I’m wondering how these names would be in society. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you react if you heard a Mother or Father call these names on the playground?
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]–I like this.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]–Eh.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]–Okay.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]–[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]?
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]–[name_m]Urijah[/name_m] is kind of odd…
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]–Likable.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f]–^
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]–The -ar- sounds run together, but good names.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]–[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is okay, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is good.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]–
All of your names would be fine to hear on the playground! [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] and [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] might turn some heads, but hey, why not?
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]- Very sweet.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]- I like this.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]- I love both names, but they don’t wow me put together.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]- Yes, how do you pronounce [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]?
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]- I’ve never heard [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]. And I feel like people would assume that a little [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] was a girl.
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]- I love this! [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] is such a lilting, pretty name, but I worry that people will always mispronounce it! [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] is also nice, but it’s almost too Irish, if you know what I mean.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f]- I adore [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! It’s rather spunky.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]- It runs together.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]- Very pretty together, but I don’t really like [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f].
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]! The combination is nice, but I don’t at all care for [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f].
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m], though [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]'s never done anything for me. They sound well together, but not as adventurous as your others
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - great!
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], not [name_m]Liam[/name_m] so much, but it sounds good
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - my least favourite
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - I like it but I’d like it more if it were spelt [name_m]Uriah[/name_m]
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - these are both lovely, though I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds better with [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] than [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - not bad, but probably my least favourite
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - this is my favourite, it is very, very lovely
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - this is really sweet, I like it
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - I really like this too, but I do like [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] more
This is like that “I say, you think, you say” game, haha.
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]- This is nice, both are really good and sturdy names. I do like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] quite a bit, and while [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is nice, I’m not especially wowed by [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]- Ooh, I like this! I’ve been coming around to [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], and I’ve always loved [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]- Eeh, I love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] but [name_m]Liam[/name_m] does absolutely nothing for me. There’s nothing wrong with [name_m]Liam[/name_m], I just don’t like it myself. [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is lovely to see though.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]- Nice, but having a cool and interesting mn like [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] after something as common as [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] makes [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]'s awesomeness unknown… it almost makes me think “too bad…” but [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is a fine name, but I wish [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] could be the one showcased.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]- Errrr, I’d be excited to hear of a boy named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], but [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] isn’t one I care for.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]- Meh, I’m not a huge fan of Irish names, and [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] is nice enough, but it’s just not my style.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] doesn’t sound appealing to me, sorry. It’s an interesting though.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]- I like this a lot! I used to love [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and I do love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]- Very cool! Kudos to anyone who has the guys to use Zippoah. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] works perfectly as a mn here and doesn’t seem boring or expected. I personally love Séfora, too
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]- nice! I think [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] is awesome.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - a familiar, solid choice; very nice name
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - I’d be thrilled, I love this one
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - very nice
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - I wouldn’t hear [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] and know where it was coming from, but after looking it up I like it
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - in theory I prefer [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] on a boy, but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] or [name_m]Uriah[/name_m]
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u], it flows nicely
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - not a big fan of either name, but strangely I like the combination
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - I adore this! Definitely my favorite.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - very sweet and spunky
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - I like this. What a strong name, and so beautiful
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and together it is a great combo.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is one of my favorite names and I think [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is a nice, strong and classy name.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - I am not a huge fan of [name_m]Liam[/name_m] but don’t dislike it. [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] has gotten really popular lately due to a tv show, I don’t love it, but the combo is nice.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - I think [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is a solid name, but cannot pronounce the middle name.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]- every [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I know is female, so it sounds too feminine for my taste. The middle name is not something I can pronounce.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I am not sure how to say the first name. At first glance it looks strange (just being honest) and trying to sound it out… Is difficult due to all the vowels. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a nice, classic name and [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] looks like Raisin to me.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but not a fan of clodagh at all.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - beautiful combo. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a beautiful name too.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is a little odd, not really my style. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a classic name, but not one that I like.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - I am not a huge fair [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], or nickname [name_f]Margie[/name_f]. [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] is ok.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - both nice names but kind of … expected?
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - I like this and think they compliment each other really well
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - [name_m]Liam[/name_m] is a good name but I find it a bit boring but [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] I love so they kind of balance each other out. I like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m] more and this would definitely turn my head if I heard it called out
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is a good name, though not overly exciting, [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] is great and I like it with [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - this is the only name on your list I could possibly see a child having a problem with ([name_m]Urijah[/name_m] makes me think of urine) but at least it’s in the middle. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] I am not a fan of.
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] but I’m not sure if they sound right together. [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is pretty but [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] is definitely not one of my favourite Irish names. [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]?
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - very pretty
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is definitely unusual but I definitely think it could work. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] balances out [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]'s unusualness
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - not a massive fan of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. It sounds a bit strange with [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] would I react if I heard these called on the playground?
Honestly, all the boy combinations are great, I especially love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]! I’m not super fond of [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] or [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] but they’re fine and wouldn’t surprise me.
For the girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I would assume the parents were British because I’ve never even heard of one [name_m]IRL[/name_m]. It’s a pretty enough name though
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - I’d be slightly surprised but assume the parents were up on the recent trends. It’s okay
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - I really like this one. I’d be happy to hear this one or meet a young [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I’d assume the parents were religious-- either Jewish or conservative [name_m]Christian[/name_m]. Or that they were maybe just into unique names. I don’t hate it but it’s definitely very unusual and not my style
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - fine. Very traditional sounding. I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s nice.
My favorite combos are [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. You have beautiful combos. I think they all flow well.
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m][name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - this is a nice classic sounding name. I’ve recently become a fan of [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_m]Leo[/name_m][name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - interesting. Not names I care for but I would think it’s nice for someone else.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m][name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - I love this! [name_m]Liam[/name_m] is a great name and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] has always been one of my absolute favorites.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m][name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is a great name. [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m], I’m not a fan of.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]*[name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is more of a girl’s name now in my opinion. [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] is kind of nice. It could grow on me.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f][name_f]Claire[/name_f]or[name_f]Aoife[/name_f][name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - not really of fan of these. I like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but that’s about it.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f][name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - I am liking [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] lately. [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] is interesting…in a weird way.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f][name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - Very pretty name. It seems like older names like these are coming back and I like it.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f][name_f]Grace[/name_f] - not sure about [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]. Maybe it could have a cute nickname.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f][name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - I like the name [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I’m not sure about [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]. Seems like a weird name to be paired with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
Oops, sorry guys. I forgot to put the correct pronunciation next to the names. [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] is is pronounced [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-[name_m]Sheen[/name_m]. [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] is [name_f]Clo[/name_f]-da. [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] is [name_m]Tyg[/name_m], like the beginning of [name_m]Tiger[/name_m], and [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] is just pronounced like [name_m]Uriah[/name_m]. Thanks to every who commented and gave their honest opinion. I really do appreciate it, though after what PotofGold pointed out about [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] it kind of makes me dislike the spelling, and I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m], I can shockingly say that I’ve never thought of that. It flows better I think than [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
Oleander, what TV show has [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] as a character? I’ve never heard anyone with that particular name!
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - Nice safe choice. I’m still on the fence about [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] less so.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - Also prefer [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. You asked above, there is a character named [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] on a show called Pretty [name_m]Little[/name_m] Liars. I can’t think of any others.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - I don’t really like either.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]/[name_m]Uriah[/name_m] less so.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] (I had a teacher by that name many moons ago), but prefer [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] with [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - Not a fan of either.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but the combo is nice.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]/Tsipora/Tzipporah and would love to meet one. Pretty combo.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] and pairing it with classic [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] makes it very wearable.
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]-- This is a little plain for me.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Leo[/name_m], just not [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]-- swap the names around and it would be perfect! [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m]-- Not a fan.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m]-- Not feeling these two either.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]-- Prefer [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f]-- Not too bad.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]-- Two pretty names. I don’t think they flow the best together, but nonetheless they are pretty.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]-- Pretty.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]-- I don’t like these two together at all. They don’t really match.
[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] boy: [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (but would rather see it [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m])
[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] girl: [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is a little out there, especially to those who are unfamiliar with the Bible, but [name_f]Grace[/name_f] balances it out and makes it a grounded name.
Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - can’t go wrong here. Classic.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - Not too bad, but I prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as a nn.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - Not my style, but I think I like it.
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - I like the sound of it, though it looks kind of weird written down.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Urijah[/name_m] - I’d love to see [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] used for a boy, but I don’t like the mn. I think [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], or even [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] could be nice.
Girls:
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds nice, but I like a lot of Irish names and the spelling even threw me off - I’d have guessed eh-fa or ai-fa rather than ee-fa. Of course, if you’re in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], go for it.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clodagh[/name_f] - not a fan
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] - Very pretty! I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is perfect in the mn spot.
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] just makes me think zippidy-doo-da.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] - this is my second favorite, although the style of the two clash.
Thank you for replying and letting me see what you all think about these names, and thanks Ollieollie for answering my question about what TV show [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is on. I’ve heard of Pretty [name_m]Little[/name_m] Liars, but I have no clue what it’s about. So hopefully others wouldn’t look at an [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and think about that particular show. Miraje, I love [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], that’s definitely a combo I am going to use
