Thoughts

We think we have narrowed down the name. We originally loved [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] as a first name, but that got ruined when people cringed and played the nickname game and called her “ro-weiner.” So, we went back to the drawing board and came up with: [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] Vogler (nickname: [name_f]Millie[/name_f]). We have a daughter named [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. So, we would have [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Thoughts?

[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] called [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is a great choice, very vintage and a good match for [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] does seem a little harsh compared to [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], but the lighter nickname or [name_f]Millie[/name_f] balances that out well I think. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are really sweet together, a lovely vintage pairing.

[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely! [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] make great nicknames for sisters. Both names are perfectly vintage and work wonderfully together.

[name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] sounds adorable!!!

I’m not crazy about [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is a very cute name. Although, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with [name_f]Rowena[/name_f].

Oh, people are awful…I wish they hadn’t ruined [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] for you! I’d still use it personally, but since you asked about [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]… I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] at all. I adore the nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f], though and think that [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] “[name_f]Mille[/name_f]” goes perfectly with [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] “[name_f]Cora[/name_f]”.

That’s sad about [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], it’s a lovely name. I do like [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], but I wouldn’t ask for opinions from the same people that called [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-weiner. They’ll probably mention the (not positive) [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] character and compare it to Malificent. At least that’s what people I know said about it once! You can come up with something negative about every name out there, many people on here don’t share their lists with people in real life.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] together. Have you considered just [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]? I love it on a girl.

Sorry to hear about [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], I think it’s a perfectly lovely and useable name. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] isn’t really my style, but I think [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] sound very sweet together, especially if they’re called [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] which have the same vintage sound. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is very cute.

I don’t like [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] personally but [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are adorable together. [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] sound beautiful together.

I think it’s a great fit! [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] sound like sisters, as do [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f].

I hate that they ruined [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]! It’s a great name!

I love [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] too, it’s a fantastic choice! [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] sound adorable together!

I love [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] “[name_f]Millie[/name_f]”. While I’m not against [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], I do think [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] make a better sibset than [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]. (I assume [name_f]Ro[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]?)

I love [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]! [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is gorgeous.

I like the name [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], but I’m afraid it will have just as much teasing potential as [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]. Still, [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] would be great together. Here’s another to think about: [name_f]Romina[/name_f]. It sounds similar to [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], but without the ween. Then, you could have [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Mina[/name_f].

Agree with this. I find [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] just so gorgeous and distinctive (it’s on my own list) so am a little disappointed you’ve ruled it out, but [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely.

Millicent sounds pretty harsh to me as some others said. Maybe because it’s similar to the witch’s name in Sleeping Beauty. Have you considered Camille or Camilla to get Millie? I’ll also suggest alternatives to Rowena–Ramona, Winona, or Elowen.

I love the both [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! They go perfectly together

I actually pronounce [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] as [name_f]RO[/name_f]-winna (emphasis in caps). Sort of like a drawn out [name_f]Rona[/name_f]. I’ve only known one [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] and that’s how she pronounced it. I love the name [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] with [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], though, seems so perfect and regal! Great naming.

I really like it. I agree w/ PPs about [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] being a tiny bit harsh, but [name_f]Millie[/name_f] makes it lovely, and it goes great with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] ([name_f]Coraline[/name_f]).
