Although I prefer [name_f]Avis[/name_f] (my mother’s name), I love [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] too. I think it’s a great name and [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a nn is really cute too!
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is absolutely fabulous! I love that it is quirky/spunky/vintage, but fits right in with more modern picks too. I know a high school aged [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (she is very sporty & athletic) and she wears the name super well.

I think it’s great! I wouldn’t describe many vintage names as “spunky,” but that’s definitely the vibe I get from [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]. I love the -s ending and nickname possibilities [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Mave[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]! It’s vintage, but it feels very fresh and whimsical to me personally. I’m not really a nickname person and prefer the full [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], but there are some fun nickname options if you’re into that; [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Mave[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] myself, but I totally agree that [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] strikes a great balance between old lady/strong and spunky, and it’s very underused.
Not a huge fan of names that end with the -is. They just aren’t appealing to me. Personally, would prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] to [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
