Three names, two boys

Hello, I just joined and I’m going to get straight down to business.

Two boys need names and we can’t eliminate one of these three.

This is the list:

  • [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]: My grandmother’s name is Quintilia, and I think it’s a good tribute to her. I love the look and sound of it. Most people do not seem to like it, but I can’t let it go.

  • [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]: My mother’s name is [name_f]Josefina[/name_f], and while I do not care much for [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], since [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] is [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]'s son in the bible, there is a connection. It’s familiar but not common, and sweet.

  • [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]: No family connection but I truly love this one and it’s traditional/well known in my latino community. The name seems masculine and sweet at the same time.

I have the middle names [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_u]James[/name_u] in mind, to pair with any of these three. I actually like the idea of having a child nicknamed J.J. in case I keep [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m], but then his brother wouldn’t have a nickname.

Which name should be eliminated?

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] would be my picks.

I like that [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is a family name, and it’s a clear connection. Plus I love [name_u]Quin[/name_u], he could also be QP. [name_m]Juaquin[/name_m] is different but not too different. To me it looks like a real, solid name and will look good on a resume. J.J. is a cute nickname.

[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], it’s too out there for my taste and it seems like the name connection is stretching. It’s not nearly as clear cut. It would be neat if your name was [name_f]Josefina[/name_f] and you were going to name your son [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m].

Can I add [name_u]Micah[/name_u] for consideration. This names seems to suite your style and would sound sweet with any of your current options.

I actually think [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] could theoretically honour Quintilia, both names have ‘[name_u]Quin[/name_u]’ in them. [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is nice though.

Personally I’d go for [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] because the names feel similar in style but to me [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] share too many sounds for siblings. I don’t think the nickname thing is a big deal, but you could always call [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Quin[/name_u]’ and call [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] ‘E.J.’

[name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are very handsome.

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] would be my picks.

I’d go with [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] (top pick) and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].

Yes, I see that [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] share many features, and I couldn’t decide it if was quirky or dumb. It’s a fine line between those.

I like [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]! I would eliminate either [name_m]Quinten[/name_m] or [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] because I think they sound too similar  great choices!

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], only because [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] is too much like [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]

[name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] would be my pick

[name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] & [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]!

My favorite is [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and second [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m].

I vote [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]!

My picks are [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m].

I would go with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] (or [name_m]Quinton[/name_m]) and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]! [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] ([name_u]Quinn[/name_u] & J.J) make a great sibset!

I have always loved the name [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. I also prefer honor names. My vote is for [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. I think they tie together nice without being to cutesie for twins and could both be honor names for your grandmother

[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are my votes!

[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. I adore [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], it’s one of my absolute favourite names. I also love [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m], but I prefer [name_m]Joachim[/name_m].
