Interested to know your thoughts? I know it would be easy enough to use at home, but would other people use it as well, say extended family?
Or do you have any other suggestions besides Lissy and [name_f]Flick[/name_f]?
I think it makes sense.
Some other suggestions: Fliss, Flissa, Flicka, Liss, [name_f]Flossy[/name_f], Fizz, [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], Fleece, Fleecy, [name_u]Fee[/name_u]
I do not think [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] makes sense at all as a nn for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_u]Felice[/name_u]/[name_f]Felicie[/name_f], Lissi, Filly, [name_f]Fifi[/name_f], Cici
My favorite nns for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] are Cici ([name_f]Cece[/name_f]/Ceci? I never know which way to spell it haha) and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]! I think Litty/Liddy, Fizzy, and even City are sort of cute, too. I’ve never been a huge fan of the general nns for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]–Lissy, [name_f]Flick/name_f, [name_f]Floss[/name_f], Fliss, etc. I do sort of like just Liss, though, but wouldn’t use it over [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] or Cici. I have [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] on my list, and I’m not sure whether I’d use [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] or Cici. I love them both.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], but I think the connect from [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is a pretty huge leap. Sorry.
I can’t really see [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] seeming natural as a nickname for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. At home you can call her whatever floats your boat but I don’t think outside of family, it’d catch on as much.
I don’t think I could get to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] form [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] sorry.
I disagree with pps, and think that [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] works well for a [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nickname. (It’s much closer than [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] which work for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], or [name_f]Molly[/name_f] or [name_f]Polly[/name_f] for [name_f]Mary[/name_f], or [name_m]Bill[/name_m] for [name_m]William[/name_m], or [name_m]Bob[/name_m] for [name_m]Robert[/name_m]!) I think people just aren’t used to the link, but I would go for it!
What does everyone think about Liddy as a nickname then as another option?
i also think Liddy works.
People will use whatever you/she asks them too (unless they are jerks). That said, I prefer [name_f]Fliss[/name_f].
Not sure about [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] - I mean, if it’s her nickname, it’ll probably work b/c people get told, but I don’t find it intuitive. Whereas Liddy I think works.
Other nns - [name_f]Fia[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Letty[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], [name_f]Fay[/name_f] / [name_f]Fae[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Fifi[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f] (?), [name_u]Leigh[/name_u], [name_f]Effie[/name_f] . . .
I think sound wise Liddy/[name_f]Lydie[/name_f] works as a nn for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but I think @morning_glory suggestion of [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] works even better. Also love [name_f]Fay[/name_f]/[name_f]Fae[/name_f]/[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
I’ve thought this before that it could work. If baby #4 is a girl, we’ll probably use [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Lillie[/name_f], and nn [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. I think it’s a perfectly workable nn. And i think you can easily get to it, particularly so if using something like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a middle.
