Timeless girl's names?

I did a quick search through different decades of social security popularity data. The following girl’s names are “timeless” in the sense that they have pretty consistently been in the top 200 names for the past century.

Any other girl’s names that you think of are timeless and not tied to any particular decade?

Mary
Anne / Anna / Ann
Jane
Catherine
Elizabeth
Evelyn
Julia
Sarah / Sara
Alice
Grace
Rachel
Maria
Amy
Victoria
Audrey
Emily
Emma

Interestingly, girl’s names tend to change much faster than boy’s names. While James, William, David and Michael have been in or near the top 20 for boys in almost every decade over the past century, the top 20 for girls changes completely almost every 10 years! Dorothy, Helen, and Betty of the 1920’s named their daughters Linda, Barbara, and Carol in the 1940’s. Then Susan, Patricia, and Donna in the 1960’s chose Jessica, Jennifer, and Amanda in the 1980’s, who are now naming their daughters Emma, Sophia, and Olivia.

I’ve always found [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] to be timeless names, I just can’t ever see either becoming dated. Being Australian though, I may have a different perspective on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] compared to others - I feel it’s more familiar here (and is certainly very popular at the moment).

It is interesting how girls names change more quickly! I’ve thought that too

I agree with pp about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

I’d also add:
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] are personal faves - agree with adding both!

Also:

[name_f]Mary[/name_f]

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]

Some of my favourites: [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f].

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very “now” as a middle name but feels pretty timeless as a first.

I agree with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
Some names I always feel have a timeless appeal are [name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (& some Variants) and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

I agree with previous posters about [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lillian[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Here are some other timeless names:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]

I agree with previous posters that [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Hope[/name_f], etc. are classics. I think a lot of Biblical names are pretty timeless as well, even if they were more popular at some times than they were at others. For instance, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], etc.
