My husband and I were talking about how boys are so much harder to name for us. The main problem is that I [name]LOVE[/name] Hebrew and Old Testament names ([name]Amos[/name], [name]Ephraim[/name], [name]Noam[/name], [name]Hiram[/name], [name]Boaz[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], etc), and he dislikes any name that is strongly tied to religion. He also says that my boy choices are all a bit too unconventional for him. So, with that being said, any suggestions on some names that are not excessively popular, yet still have a classic vibe but are not strongly associated with the [name]Christian[/name] or Jewish faith? Thanks.
These are in the Bible but so widespread/have so many other associations I don’t know that it would matter (if you used some of these in a set it would start to sound that way, but not on their own, and not the right combinations):
[name]John[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name]
[name]Mark[/name]
[name]Luke[/name]
[name]Paul[/name]
[name]Peter[/name]
[name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Michael[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]David[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Nathan[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name]
[name]Jonathan[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Philip[/name]
Not in the Bible but really well established (mostly English royalty names, or old names in any case):
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Robert[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Richard[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] (has a religious meaning though)
[name]Stephen[/name] (this may be in the Bible? He was an early saint. But I don’t think most people think that when they hear it.)
[name]George[/name]
[name]Hugh[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] (this may be in the Bible as a minor character?)
[name]Albert[/name]
[name]Francis[/name]
Sure there are more but this is what came to mind to start…
I have a soft spot for [name]Amos[/name] and [name]Hiram[/name]. Here are some more ideas.

Keep the suggestions coming!
Yes, the names you like are found in the Bible/Torah; but that doesn’t mean they’re “owned” the religious only. I wouldn’t worry aout that at all.
I understand that, but my husband favors names that don’t have religious connections.

@maple_blythe: I like [name]Evander[/name], [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Clyde[/name], [name]Ewan[/name], Fraiser and [name]Cormac[/name].
[name]Erasmus[/name] sounds very Old Testament to me, but to the best of my knowledge isn’t actually in the Bible. It was the name of [name]Charles[/name] [name]Darwin[/name]'s grandfather, if that would interest your husband. He wrote poetry about evolution.
Some other ideas:

[name]Leonidas[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] is the “unbiblical” [name]Tobiah[/name], if you will. [name]Corbin[/name] is another of my favorites… cute, substantial, familiar but uncommon all at once
I’ll add more if I think of any
