Totally get that [name_f]Americana[/name_f] vibe from [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]/h, probably because the folk song @katkabet mentioned. Same thing with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - I hear the song immediately in part of my brain before I even finish reading the name!
But [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is super British, too, right? Mrs. [name_m]Winston[/name_m] [name_m]Churchill[/name_m] + all that. So maybe there’s an [name_f]English[/name_f] take on [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]/h, too?
I’m in the US so I can’t give a British perspective but
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Mina[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]?
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]?
Some girls’ names that will never peg your child to any particular era–[name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
For a boy, [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m].
Since [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is a family name, I’ll also suggest the feminized version of the name, [name_f]Frederica[/name_f]. [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] is actually my grandma’s name, and she goes by [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] (which I find lovely and charming).
What about [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] for a girl? I’m not in the UK and not sure where to find UK data - but while [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] & [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] have familiar sounds, neither spelling has ever been in the US Top 1000. It has so many potential NNs that strike me as pretty timeless in their own right: [name_u]Jess[/name_u], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_u]Sam[/name_u].
Bonus: it’s a botanical name like [name_u]Holly[/name_u], and could work to honor a [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] would make a gorgeous combo.
