To honor grandparents... Is this a stretch?

Looking for a middle name to add to my list to honor my grandparents [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_f]Doris[/name_f]
Would [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] work? Or too far off. What else would work?
I think I would use it with [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a family name on my husbands side and I’ve always thought it was beautiful.

[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] definitely works for [name_f]Doris[/name_f], but I don’t think it would honor [name_u]Dean[/name_u].

I could see [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] working for [name_f]Doris[/name_f], but not for [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. What about [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] or [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]? Both have the “ee” sound of [name_u]Dean[/name_u], and the “or” sound of [name_f]Doris[/name_f]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

I like the names [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_f]Doris[/name_f] in themselves.

I don’t think it matters if your choices are a stretch, just so long as you love them in themselves and feel they somehow honor your grandparents.

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is gorgeous. Can’t say I’m a big [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] person, but it’s fine. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] flows better than [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] though.

A girl could also be called [name_f]Deanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Dora[/name_f]. Or even [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] honors [name_f]Doris[/name_f] quite well.

However [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] does not have a good flow.

I think [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is pretty and flows very well. I do agree that it only seems to honor [name_f]Doris[/name_f] though, and not [name_u]Dean[/name_u] (not in any obvious way, anyway).

Maybe [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] or [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]?

[name_m]How[/name_m] bout [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_m]Isadore[/name_m]? You have [name_m]Le[/name_m] for [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_m]Long[/name_m] e sound + n for [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. [name_m]Isadore[/name_m] for [name_f]Doris[/name_f].

I agree that [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] just doesn’t quite flow for me. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is better

Very cute for [name_f]Doris[/name_f] doesn’t work for [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. Maybe for him a name related to something he liked? Also [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] would be so cute but [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] feels incomplete.

It honours [name_f]Doris[/name_f], but not [name_u]Dean[/name_u].

When it comes to the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u] I can’t think of anything similar off of the top of my head. I like the name and wouldn’t be afraid to use it because of the fact that it doesn’t seem too popular yet it isn’t aged and out of style.

[name_m]Isadore[/name_m] is a beautiful way to spice up [name_f]Doris[/name_f]! I prefer [name_m]Isadore[/name_m] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] over [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_m]Isadore[/name_m].

I think with honour names, if to you it honours the person then that is what is important. So if [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] honours your grandparents in your mind, go for it! That is what matters.

I also prefer [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as a flow - but [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is quite cute. Maybe you would want another middle inbetween to help with the flow. Or from your signature, [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] has a better flow to my ears.

Thank you for the feedback everyone! I’ve also come across [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]. I know it’s not as close of a name but has letters from both names and I think it’s very cute. Need to search for middle names ! [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

Sure! I think [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is lovely.
