[name_m]Damien[/name_m] is one of my all time favorite names. The dark film connection, several of my other favorites pair well with it, the general ambience and dramatic flair it gives off. It’s unique but the sound is so familiar, and I’ve wanted to name my future son [name_m]Damien[/name_m] since around the 8th grade.
My cousin and his wife used it for their first son.
So now I’m looking to find a new boys name that holds up to [name_m]Damien[/name_m] in style, tone, and flair. I prefer names with literary or film significance, the longer the better. I love connections to legends and historically royal names, though I don’t like many names with a lot of religious use. Some other names that I do like are [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m], [name_m]Gerard[/name_m], [name_m]Finian[/name_m], [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], [name_u]Kieron[/name_u], [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m], [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_m]Bramwell[/name_m], [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], [name_m]Byron[/name_m], [name_m]Dante[/name_m], Hyperion, [name_m]Erasmus[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m], [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m], [name_u]Oberon[/name_u], [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m].
The only names I feel match [name_m]Damien[/name_m]’s energy from my list are:
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] (almost a gp, but a long time fave)
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] (only like this as a middle)
[name_m]Erasmus[/name_m] (another gp)
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] (probably my runner up)
[name_u]Oberon[/name_u] (the next runner up)
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u] (my all time favorite boys name)
[name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] (gp)
So what do you think of those options? Any that work, or are they too far out there? Any suggestions that I haven’t considered? [name_f]TIA[/name_f]
