To replace Malachi

Not expecting anytime soon, just looking for ideas for my list

I’ve had [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u] on my list for a few years, but recently due to association, I don’t like it as much. So, I’m looking for a name to replace it on my list! Looking for something that will preferably go with [name_m]David[/name_m] or [name_m]Davis[/name_m] as the middle name.

Here are the first names currently on my short list:

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] nn. [name_m]Nate[/name_m]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]

What do you all think would go along with these to replace [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]? I know my style is kind of all over the place, & I can’t quite put my finger on a definite type of names that I like… So, I’m also pretty interested in seeing what everyone thinks would fit on my list.

Thanks for replying, southern.maple! I like [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] in theory, & really it’s not that far off from [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], but I just don’t think I could use it myself. Oh & [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is the part that I’m mostly trying to get away from, so I guess [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] doesn’t really help with that.

If you’re trying to get away from [name_u]Kai[/name_u], what about [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]?
