To Thea or to not Thea

With a sister named [name_f]Tia[/name_f] (but she goes by her middle name). A stepsister that lives two states away with a daughter named [name_f]Dia[/name_f], and a niece on my husband’s side named [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], is [name_f]Thea[/name_f] too much?

My husband and I have 3 little boys and now are expecting a girl. We love this name, [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. But the more I say it, the more I think it sounds too much like other females in the family? Is it just my pregnancy brain over thinking?

Are you pronouncing it thee-ah or [name_u]Tay[/name_u]-uh? The first is quite similar but [name_u]Tay[/name_u]-uh is lovely. It would depend on how close you are with your family members.

Is [name_f]Tia[/name_f] your sister or would she be [name_f]Thea[/name_f]'s sister?

Too close if [name_f]Tia[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] are siblings. Perfectly fine otherwise.

ETA: I just saw that older sibs are brothers, lol! I think you can use [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. I can’t imagine it being a problem.

I say go with it. It’ll be one of those funny family quirks.

I’m not sure about where you live but the original way of pronouncing it is the-ah, the th like the one in thanks and the e like the one in get

We would pronounce it Thee-ah. Thank you for all the replies. This really does help!

I think it’s fine! I absolutely love [name_f]Thea[/name_f].
