Tomorrow's the big day (Oct. 8th)! Lucy or Alexandra?

Big brother [name]Charlie[/name] is getting a little sister tomorrow. It took all nine months but we’ve narrowed it down to [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name]. Help us decide - favorite between the two?

Thanks everyone!

That’s so hard because they’re so different. Why not both? [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] would be lovely! If I had to choose one, probably [name]Lucy[/name] because I’m not a fan of the [name]Alexandra[/name] nicknames.

I love, love, love the sound of [name]Lucy[/name], especially with [name]Charlie[/name]. It transitions easily between girly and grown-up, and sounds more classic and unusual than [name]Alexandra[/name] (in my opinion). I hope all goes well tomorrow!

[name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] is adorable!

Congratulations!
Such very different names. [name]Lucy[/name] is sweet and good-natured sounding, while [name]Alexandra[/name] is royal and strong. I think [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] might fit together better, but [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] are good too. I know an [name]Alexandra[/name]. She goes by her whole name and dislikes all the nicknames ([name]Alex[/name], [name]Lexie[/name], [name]Ally[/name]…) She does like the X in her name a lot. I favor [name]Lucy[/name], associating it with The [name]Lion[/name], the Witch, and the Wardrobe. [name]Lucy[/name] seems more… huggable to me. Also slightly more versatile. But [name]Alexandra[/name] is powerful. Tough choice. Maybe she’ll tell you her name when she’s born.

Ohhh both lovely… but for variety I will go for [name]Alexandra[/name]. That way in formal setting she can use ‘[name]Alexandra[/name]’. ‘[name]Ally[/name]’ is an affectionate nn. ‘[name]Al[/name]’ is a cool, unisex version. ‘[name]Lex[/name]’ and ‘[name]Lexi[/name]’ are also on the table and, of course, ‘[name]Alex[/name]’.

That said, as a set I like [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] better. And [name]Lucy[/name] could also be [name]Lu[/name] or [name]Lulu[/name]…

Congratulations! [name]Alexandra[/name] is irresistibly gorgeous. but - if it’s a choice between “[name]Alex[/name]” or [name]Lucy[/name] – I vote for [name]Lucy[/name].

[name]Lucy[/name]!

Congratulations on your new arrival!

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]! I vote both unless you already have a fix middle name for her.

I vote [name]Lucy[/name] for sure, so sweet!

I vote for [name]Alexandra[/name]…because [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] together is too “Peanuts” for me.

[name]Lucy[/name] is beautiful with [name]Charlie[/name]!

I prefer [name]Lucy[/name] too, but since you have a [name]Charlie[/name], it immediately makes me think of [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Brown[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. Very Peanuts!

[name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] is the perfect match for me.

I love [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], but like others, my mind immediately goes to [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Brown[/name]. I have to go with [name]Alexandra[/name], which I also love. [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] would be beautiful though.

Is [name]Charlie[/name] actually [name]Charles[/name]? If so, definitely [name]Alexandra[/name]

Nameberry loves the name [name]Lucy[/name] but I think it’s childish and nicknamey, not a full name. And is mentioned, [name]Charlie[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name] is very Peanuts. They’ve been around for over 60yrs and are still going strong so that association’s not going anywhere

[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lucy[/name]! Definitely

Such a beautiful, classic but cute name for a little girl, and ages well too!

[name]Alexandra[/name]! Such a beautiful sound in name and lots of nickname choices. Congratulations!

I agree [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]. I would pick [name]Alexandra[/name] nn [name]Alex[/name] b/c I love that name and unisex nn for girls, but I think [name]Lucy[/name] fits with [name]Charlie[/name] better, although [name]Alexandra[/name] would be fine if you decide you like it better. Or wait til your baby is born and once you look at her it might help you decide!

I much prefer [name]Lucy[/name]. Not sure why, but I’ve never liked the [name]Alex[/name]- names for girls. And FWIW, I didn’t think of the Peanuts when I read [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. I think that’s because [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Brown[/name] is almost always called by his full name on the Peanuts, so I don’t think of him as just [name]Charlie[/name].

Congrats, and I hope tomorrow goes well!
