Tomorrow, my little angel is supposed to arrive! I have changed my mind so many times on names, but I just discovered this name, and it is by far my favorite: [name]Shayla[/name]!
I found lots of spellings, here they are: Sheala, Shealah, [name]Shayla[/name], [name]Shaela[/name], Shaelah…
Here are the middle suggestions:
[name]Ciara[/name]
[name]Karleigh[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name]
I’m,sorry to burst your bubble but [name]Shayla[/name] and all of your kree8tiv spellings are awful…[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] is much cuter
If you’re going with [name]Shayla[/name], I’d just stick with that spellling. Sheala and Shealah are “creative” spellings of [name]Sheila[/name] and lead to a different pronunciation.
None of the middle names go well with [name]Shayla[/name], except perhaps [name]Primrose[/name] which I’m not a big fan of.
I like the girls’ names in your signature much better - [name]Selena[/name], [name]Tessa[/name], and [name]Ciara[/name] (if you are pronouncing it “[name]Keera[/name].” Also [name]Genevieve[/name] (spelled that way), [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Virginia[/name].
I’m not crazy about [name]Shayla[/name]. It just looks so made up and trendy that is starts to blend in with similar names with the same sound (eg. [name]Layla[/name]/[name]Kayla[/name]/[name]Shayna[/name]/[name]Tayla[/name]). However, there is a Hindi/[name]Indian[/name] name spelled [name]Shaila[/name] which means “hill” or “small mountain” and is pronounced “[name]SHAY[/name] lah” which would be an great alternative. [name]Shaila[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] would be pretty.
I think [name]Shayla[/name] is a fine choice. While it is a trendy name, I don’t think it’s quiiiite as hot a trend as -lin endings ([name]Kaylin[/name]/Breelin/[name]Jaylin[/name]/Paylin) or [name]Nevaeh[/name]. No child will be scarred for having a name like [name]Shayla[/name] (compared, to say, Champagne or Ripper or something). It’s not really my style, but if this is the name that you keep coming back to and that you love, I say GREAT. It sounds like you’ve found the one that will keep you smiling.
[name]Shayla[/name] or [name]Shaila[/name] (as mischa suggested) are the two spellings that best capture the pronunciation. All the ones with [name]Shea[/name]- at the front make me think of the sound “shee” as in [name]Sheila[/name]. As for the middles, I would personally nix [name]Ciara[/name] and [name]Lily[/name]: [name]Ciara[/name] because it has the exact same ending as [name]Shayla[/name] and switching from the “sh” sound to the “see” sound is tricky with these two names, and [name]Lily[/name] because Shaylalily blends together into a lot of L! What about [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Violet[/name]?
I think [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Karleigh[/name] sounds ok rhythm-wise, but [name]Karleigh[/name] doubles [name]Shayla[/name]'s trendy (thereby date-able) sound. You don’t have to pick a classic instead, but maybe let [name]Shayla[/name] have the more contemporary feel and select a more enduring middle. Instead of [name]Karleigh[/name], what about [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Cleo[/name], [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name], or [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Camille[/name]? And I think [name]Shaila[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] would be really lovely (though I think this spelling of [name]Shaila[/name] sets [name]Primrose[/name] off more nicely than [name]Shayla[/name] for some reason).
And for some extra suggestions, what about [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], or [name]Shayla[/name] [name]Belle[/name]?
If you choose [name]Shayla[/name] I beg of you to go with [name]Primrose[/name] as a mn. The others don’t flow as well in my opinion. I love [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Anabel[/name]. I think it’s a tad bit prettier then [name]Shayla[/name].
