- - - - ton Names

So in my hometown, there has been an epidemic of baby boys with -ton names, most of them decidedly awful (no offence meant to anyone, just my opinion) Examples like [name]Paxton[/name], [name]Ashton[/name], Lashton, [name]Axton[/name], [name]Braxton[/name], [name]Peyton[/name] etc etc

Are —ton names the new --aidens?? Has anyone else noticed a lot of these popping up lately??

Yep! I think -ton/-don names are just a continuance of the -aden trend.

Not here in [name]Britain[/name] as far as I am aware. Never met anyone with the names you’ve stated above - part from [name]Peyton[/name] but that was a boys surname not his first name. I agree that most of them are not very good or creative at all though i do have a soft spot for [name]Peyton[/name] / [name]Payton[/name] for both genders

I have definitely noticed this trend, I think it will definitely sky rocket with all sorts of new variations, but I don’t know if it will ever hit the same heights -ayden did.

I only know one person with a -ton name in my area. She’s an eleven-year-old girl and her named is [name]Peyton[/name]. I’ve seen a HUGE number of-ayden’s and -aelyn’s, though.

There aren’t too many of them where I live. I met a baby [name]Ashton[/name], and I personally love the name [name]Colton[/name]. That’s about it so far.

Perhaps it’s more of a [name]North[/name] American thing? I’m not sure if the --aiden epidemic happened over in [name]Britain[/name] even?? (Did it??)

Oh no, don’t tell me that. I’ve been trying to ignore it. I don’t want my beautiful [name]Anton[/name] to get lost in the sea of trendy-ton’s. <sigh>

I don’t like most of them either.

I don’t mind [name]Benton[/name], [name]Weston[/name], [name]Quentin[/name] (close)—and I can see [name]Trenton[/name] working.

Most are too towny (Wilmington) or too dorky for me ([name]Carlton[/name]).

This name is totally different than the “ton” names. [name]Anton[/name] seems so much more like a classic to me, whereas [name]Peyton[/name], [name]Ashton[/name], Lashton (seriously?!), just seem so trendy and trying to sound cool. (Sorry!!) The only one I actually know is a teenaged girl named [name]Peyton[/name]. And a baby named [name]Colton[/name] … but that name also seems to not fit that trend for me. I guess my brand of judgment is uneven.

My niece once stated that it was a lot of [name]Colton[/name]'s, [name]Peyton[/name]/[name]Payton[/name]'s etc. in here high school, but beyond that I haven’t really paid any attention to it. I personally like [name]Colton[/name], for personal connection. But would never use it unless my last name changed. So I will just admire it on paper.

Lashton was the one that gave me the biggest what the… moment. I think maybe because [name]Ashton[/name] was born first, Lashtons mom needed to get more kreatif! (Very very small town, so these boys would be in class together throughout life unless the family moved)

I heard Everton recently. On a grown man, not a baby though, and I like it!

I’ve seen a number of Braxtons, Paxtons, and Peytons out here in [name]Oz[/name].

I’m secretly fond of [name]Kingston[/name] but I don’t plan to actually use it.
