Too biblical?

My top boys combo is [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. Does this scream religious to you? It’s not my intent and I don’t want one name to be super biblical and the others not at all. I was raised in the church and while I know [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a biblical name I don’t even know who he was. So maybe others won’t either? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it goes to with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], and [name_u]Kit[/name_u]?

I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u]!

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is super handsome. I guess that it does seem kind of Biblical. [name_m]How[/name_m] about just changing the mn? [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] instead, & then [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]? All of the boy names in your signatures go really well together, I think.

I’m not [name_m]Christian[/name_m] so I didn’t recognize [name_u]Asa[/name_u] as a Biblical name, and I only recognize [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] as Biblical due to a line in a Beatles song. I like the combo and I think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] goes well with your other names.

If you’re concerned about it though, I do really like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] (using one of the other middles from your signature) as an alternative.

I’m going to say no. Would I use it? Probably not, [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is too biblical for me. And yes if someone introduced me to their baby as [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] I would assume that they were pretty religious. However, most of the time the child will just be [name_u]Asa[/name_u], and like you said I know it’s biblical but I don’t actually know who he is

I am not religious, but did recognize both as from the Bible. I would probably use either alone, but together, they are pretty biblical. I do think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] fits really well with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] though!

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a fabulous name! I don’t think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] screams “religious” — although both names are Biblical, they’re in the same fashionable “Bible chic” group as names like [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Judah[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], which I don’t think have strong religious connotations now.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] are great together! I also love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] as an alternative combo.

I’m not religious, and never went to church, so neither of those names seem biblical to me.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is lovely. Yes, I do recognise that both are biblical Hebrew names (but then again as a name-nerd, why wouldn’t I?), however, as I am not a religious person, have never been to church and haven’t read more than a few pages of the Bible, I haven’t any real idea or connection as to their biblical characters and stories.

I think the combo is fine, honestly, and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] fits beautifully with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] & [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as siblings.

I would just assume that you like the names. The religious connection would come second, and I would quickly forget about it.

The combination is a bit biblical but I really don’t think it’s a bad thing. 99% of the time he’ll just be [name_u]Asa[/name_u], which even though it’s a name in the Bible I don’t think screams religious. I think the combination is very handsome and I wouldn’t consider it biblical if you didn’t specifically ask that.

Personally, as a [name_m]Christian[/name_m], I wouldn’t think twice about [name_u]Asa[/name_u] as I’ve heard it on little boys several times lately & it seems on trend. It goes so well with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], & [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] that I would see it as being part of your short & sweet style. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] does seem much more Biblical to me. Maybe because his story is a little more specific & detailed in the Bible. There’s also a group called The Gideons International who pass out Bibles. I would definitely think anyone who used the name [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], at all, is religious. I would assume you were specifically looking for a Biblical name that wasn’t so common.

Edited to add: I don’t see that as being a problem though, especially knowing how little middle names are used in day to day life.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] makes me think of the actor [name_u]Asa[/name_u] Butterfield first to be honest.

I’m not [name_m]Christian[/name_m] though I do recognise [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] as being Biblical names. I don’t think the combo is “too religious” though, considering that they’re both fairly mainstream names and middle names are rarely used in everyday life.

I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]!! I think they’re less familiar biblical names, so it doesn’t strike me as overly Biblical at all. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gethin[/name_m] could be a similar choice of you’re worried, but I really like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] with your other choices

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a Hebrew name but I’m not sure if it’s in the Bible. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it is, it’s not a common bible name so no ones going to think his name is too biblical. I really like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]! It’s super handsome and unique and strong! Definite flows better than [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]

Hello! I knew both names were biblical but because I’m not religious, I only thought about it when you mencioned that aspect. I understand your concern because must of my favorite names are biblical or associated with religion. But, in my opinion, that shouldn’t stop you from picking an incredible name! I don’t think people will pay attention to that, especially because [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is not a common name and must people will only recognize [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] as [name_u]Asa[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if someone asks why you picked the name and if you are religious (which I doubt someone will do), you can say that you loved its sound or its meaning (or anything else you want to say about your decision).
When I see [name_u]Asa[/name_u] I always think about wings because in Portuguese the word [name_u]Asa[/name_u] means “wing”. I really like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] because of that. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is so unique, adorable and angelic! [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is strong and creates an amazing balance. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is a magnificent name! It goes perfectly with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
I love the sibset [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]! And the girls’ names on your signature are so beautiful too!

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] sounds thoroughly biblical to me and I would consider someone choosing that combination is possibly religious. I know this style of names is popular today, but just in my experience, most families I know who choose them are religious. I’m not a particular fan of [name_u]Asa[/name_u] or [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] though so I’m probably not the best person to take note of! I do love your other children’s names and personally I don’t like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] with them - it seems the odd one out to me.

It absolutely screams very Jewish to me.

“Only to find [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]'s Bible…” Yes, that was my association too!

To answer your question, I would never have made the connection had you not pointed it out. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is a lovely name, and it works well with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], and [name_u]Kit[/name_u]!

It’s not religious, I don’t find [name_u]Asa[/name_u] religious, but I do find [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] religious I don’t know why though!
Cute combo though!
