I’ve been considering [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] for a while, but I’m worried it’s too plain - too outdated. I love [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]/[name_f]Lori[/name_f] and [name_u]Ren[/name_u] as nicknames but saying [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] in full makes me realize that it’s maybe a name you’ve heard too often and aren’t struck by.
basically just looking for your opinions/experiences with [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and maybe some similar alternatives if you have any…
(side note; i love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] in the middle spot (for a few names), which do you prefer?)
It may be a little dated, but I really like [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]! It feels modern and strong. [name_u]Ren[/name_u] is a cute nickname. [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] would be a great, fresh sounding combination.
If you want something a little different, perhaps [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but grew up with sooooo many - it’s definitely not common (maybe too soon?) to use the current 30s/40s generation names like [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], etc. That said, I think [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] could be a great middle, or go for it if you love it! I have a friend who recently named her daughter [name_f]Megan[/name_f], a name you don’t hear that often on baby girls these days, and another friend who almost used [name_u]Ashley[/name_u].
On a side note, I love [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] but couldn’t get my husband behind it. You could get [name_f]Lori[/name_f] from that!
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is beautiful. It isn’t a name that I’ve heard too often and I’m 24. The only [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] that I know is 19. She suits her name very well and gets compliments on it all the time.
I honestly think that sometimes, especially on this site, we hear all sorts of fanciful combos that ‘normal’ names can sound boring. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let that stop you from using a name that you love.
I consider [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] to be a modern classic, not boring at all. It’s dropped down in popularity a LOT within the last couple of years, so I definitely think its more of an uncommon choice. [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is amazing and i love the nickname [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
I also thought of [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] as less expected alternative to [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. That said, I agree that [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is beautiful. A few other names that strike me as having a similar vibe:
I do find [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] a bit dated. It isn’t a bad named but definitely not my favorite that you can get the nicknames [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]/[name_f]Lori[/name_f] from.
I have to say that I know tons of [name_m]Laurens[/name_m]. I suppose there won’t be many kids her age named [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], but many of her friends’ mothers will likely be named [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. This could be a positive or negative, depending on how you see it.
I personally have bad ties with the name, and I also see it as a bit dated. I do however love [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and the nickname [name_u]Ren[/name_u].
I don’t know… It may seem a bit dated, but I suppose it could work well!
I personally find [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] itself quite plain and it wouldn’t be my first choice. However I love the sound of [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]!! It becomes a lot more interesting and sounds beautiful. I also really love the nickname [name_u]Ren[/name_u] for it. Definitely would go with that.
My name is [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] actually I do find it a bit boring, but if you look at my signature, it’s just so different from the style of name I usually like… I don’t think it’s a bad name at all. It feels simple, straightforward and to the point.
I’ve actually never known another [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] even though it’s supposed to be popular for girls my age. I’ve met others and heard the name around but I’ve never had a friend named [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], had another in my class, etc. I’ve heard from others though that they’ve known lots, so this might depend on where you live. The main thing with popularity actually is how many names start with the Laur- sound and people mishear it for [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Lori[/name_f], etc. I’ve known many girls named [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and find I sometimes think someone’s talking to me but they actually said [name_f]Laura[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Lauren[/name_f].
[name_f]Lori[/name_f] sounds rather cold and snooty as a nickname to me, but I love [name_u]Ren[/name_u]! I’d use it myself if it didn’t clash with my last name.
