One of the front runners for this next baby is the name [name_m]Peter[/name_m] without any nicknames. Our biggest problem with it is that we already have a L.ouise, F.rances, and an E.dmund. The four kids in the Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] are [name_f]Susan[/name_f], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and L.ouise sounds like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] to me and E.dmund has the same name. If we chose [name_m]Peter[/name_m], we would have 3/4 of the kids. Is this too much or is it fine since one of the names is different and people may not even notice?
Also, one of our top girl name right now is [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] which is close to [name_f]Susan[/name_f], so it seems we really love the names in those books
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I know a Berrymum who had this issue. She’s @dizzy if you want to check out her posts and opinions. She had three children [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and her and her husband loved the name [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] but thought it was too narania. Anyway, little [name_m]Ed[/name_m] came early [name_u]January[/name_u] so they used it.
I think it’s fine, most people probably wouldn’t make the connection, but even if they did, [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] is a great series, and those children all have incredible names. I’d say go for it!
Honestly I’ve never watched [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], but I don’t think the names are that close!
Maybe I’d understand if they were very unique names like [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] or [name_m]Leander[/name_m] or [name_f]Petra[/name_f], but the names you like are perfectly traditional, well-used classic choices. Go for it!
I didn’t think of it until you mentioned it and I don’t think most people who think of it either. [name_m]Peter[/name_m] sounds really good with your other kids’ names!
If you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have noticed and I think there is enough difference between your kiddos and the characters that most others wouldn’t notice it either, that and that they’re fairly classic names anyway so people are gonna have so many associations, never mind just [name_f]Narnia[/name_f].
First of all, I love your taste in names. Our [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] was born 14 days ago and in introducing him to family and friends (including social media) we’ve only had 3 people comment on the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] connection - 2 of the 3 were fans of the series. There may have been others who made the connection and didn’t mention it, but it hasn’t been an overwhelming association so far. Good luck!
I go by [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is my all-time favourite boy name, so I understand the struggle!
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is different enough from [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], I think. With [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] & [name_m]Peter[/name_m] together, it does make you think of the Pevensies.
I think if they were names from a current book series & not bound to be read multiple times in grade school, it wouldn’t matter so much. On the other hand, they are all great name so why pass them up?
