Is [name_f]Evalina[/name_f] too close to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] for first cousins? We don’t live close to my husbands brother and sister in law and we see them max 4x a year. Also we have an [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and they named their daughter [name_f]Emma[/name_f] a few years later. It hasn’t been an issue at all. But would us using [name_f]Evalina[/name_f] after all of this be okay?
Since they used [name_f]Emma[/name_f] after you used [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], I think [name_f]Evalina[/name_f] is fine to use though it might feel a little deliberate
Well, my legal name only has one different letter from the name of one of my cousins, and that has rarely if not never caused any issues, so I can’t really judge
Given they named their eldest [name_f]Emma[/name_f] even after you used [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], I don’t really think they can complain too much. Particularly if you don’t see them that often, and since there are easy nicknames that can come from all four names, there’ll be a way of distinguishing them found if necessary.
I don’t think with them being cousins that you don’t see very often it’s an issue at all! For siblings, yes it’d be too close. But cousins, no!
Its fine!
