Too close for siblings?

Already have a [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and loving the name [name_m]Lazlo[/name_m] for baby 2, but are they too similar?

Absolutely not, they are both gorgeous and go so well together!!

Not similar at all, I would say completely different vibes but could work as siblings still!

Not too similar at all. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though they have a few repeated letters, the sounds are quite different. They would make great sibling names!

Agreed!

I don’t think they’re too close!!
[name_f][/name_f]If you’re worried about spelling looking too close, [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] & [name_m]Laszlo[/name_m] helps make them look a bit different

Ooh, I’m going to rock the boat and say they are too similar for me personally!

I think they sound different enough. The HAY vs LAZ, the -ul vs -lo [name_f][/name_f]- it’s enough to break up any similarities

I don’t think they’re too close. I prefer the spelling [name_m]Laszlo[/name_m].

They’re similar and that spelling makes them more similar too (Lazlo instead of Laszlo). They’re close to being too similar and people might give the odd wry comment [name_f][/name_f]- but I think they get through [name_f][/name_f]- they’re a surprisingly pair, both cool names and very satisfying to say & hear!

While they are similar, I think the A being pronounced differently makes them sound different enough, especially if you were trying to get their attention!

I don’t think they’re too close. I DO think that if you’re fatigued and you’re calling both of them to the dinner table, “Hayzlo & Lazzel” might occasionally come out. I have a [name_m]Rory[/name_m] & [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], with only one sound in common, and it happens regularly. Not a dealbreaker.

Are they too close? Nope. They are similar, but not too matchy.

The only issue I foresee is that sometimes if you try calling “Hazel!” across the house, it could sound like [name_m]Lazlo[/name_m], and vice versa. But if you’re willing to have that minor issue, then I say go for it! Both are great names.

No but tongue twistery if you say them fast together.

I can see why you’d think they are similar with the shared ‘az’ however I think the names are different with completely different styles so I would go for it.

I don’t think so! [name_f][/name_f] They share similar letters but they don’t sound all that similar tbh. [name_f][/name_f] Both names are lovely!

Yes that was my main concern and I think that helps a lot!

I think I do as well!

Thank you all for your helpful comments! I do love the shared ‘z’ but worried about the visual similarities. I think the more traditional [name_m]Laszlo[/name_m] is the way to go and fixes that problem for me!
